Tom Hardy joins Batman 3 cast [Update: Warner Bros. Responds]

Tom Hardy was a main character in Inception, and it looks like he may be reuniting with Christopher Nolan in Batman 3. Deadline’s Mike Fleming posted exclusive news today. Here’s what he had to say:

I’m told that Hardy has been set by his Inception director Chris Nolan for a lead role in the next Batman film at Warner Bros. Insiders are keeping the role secret and won’t even say if he’s up for a villain role, but that seems a reasonable assumption.

While this should still be taken as a rumor, Deadline is a very reliable source and has a reputation of breaking a lot of Hollywood movie news. If this turns out to be true, who do you think Tom Hardy will be playing? Let me know in the comments!

    I’m hoping he’s going to play Bane, but I have a feeling he’ll play Roman Siounus (spelling?).

    Roman Sionis/Black Mask? Nah, I don’t think so. He has, in my opinion, to much in common with Harvey Two-Face. I think Hardy will be a perfect Thomas Elliot/Hush. And the only person where I can think of as the Riddler is Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I doubt it if Nolan wil not use the Riddler. Marion Cotillard is, to me, still the best choice to play Selina Kyle/Catwoman. But we still don’t know who the villains are going to be!!! Of course, there has to be another female-lead. Let’s hope it ain’t Talia.

    Bane for sure!…He just has that Bane feel about him. Doesnt Bane break batmans back?…….but if hes goina play bane ….it will be in more of a gangster type role and not the drug fueled comic character….

      Yea, I agree. This site is much better than BOF. They seriously need to update their site, they are stuck in the late 90s when websites started to catch on.

        Thank you! Jett has no intentions of improving BOF. He doesn’t have the technical chops to do it and wouldn’t even take me up on an offer to do it for free. I put this website together on a Sunday afternoon and his website still looks like a bad HTML homework assignment from 1993. But I owe it to BOF for getting me frustrated and inspiring me to do my own thing. Nolanfans.com was an inspiration too. I was Googling Batman websites to see if anyone had done something similar and a story on their site came up. I loved the clean look and thought I could do the same thing for Batman.Thanks again for the compliment and please help me spread the word if you like what you see! :)

          Oh well, sooner or later people will start to leave his site and go towards the ones that are more easier to access (seriously, I almost got a headache when visiting that place! lol) and he’ll regret not updating the site.

          Besides, BOF is already getting a terrible reputation because of their many articles that turned out to be bull crap. :(

      I’ve only seen her in Inception but I wouldn’t mind seeing her as Catwoman. Nolan does have a habit of casting people he’s worked with in the past so I’d say she’s a likely candidate (if Catwoman is actually going to be in the movie).

    tom hardy is an outstanding actor,just watch the mini sieres “the take” hes performance led me too try n place a bet with irish bookies”paddy power”that tom hardy would win an oscar within 5yrs of the martina coles crime thriller based sieres.Paddy powers wouldnt take the bet,but im sure im not the only one that expects this amazing thespian will pick up the ultimate nod,sooner rather then later.
