Anne Hathaway confirms competition for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ role?

A little over a month ago it was rumored that Christopher Nolan was meeting with actresses for two lead roles in The Dark Knight Rises. Anne Hathaway was one of the nine actresses named, and in a recent interview with Deadline it appears that she hints that she’s in the running.

DEADLINE: There is a strong group of actresses in your age range who are mentioned for all the plum parts that come along. It’s going on right now as Chris Nolan gets started on a new Batman, and you’ve been mentioned as a candidate for that. Do you find yourself competing against certain actresses or any you measure yourself against?

HATHAWAY: Of course, but that has always been the case. There is always competition…I don’t know how to answer that question, it feels too revealing, somehow.

    She responded to that question ambiguously because she felt uncomfortable discussing how she measures up to other actors.

    I hope she gets Catwoman. Beautiful, talented actress, and it would be interesting to see her mean side come out. After Marion Cottilard she’s easily the best pic of the lot that were mentioned.

    After looking at the photo of Miss Hathaway, I think she might me a contender for Catwoman. But I
    feel that Olivia Wilde is more suited for Selina Kyle A.K.A Catwoman because of her performance in
    Tron Legacy. So it would be between Anne Hathaway and Olivia Wilde.
