Osterley Park House to become Wayne Manor for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’?

Back in March I received an email from a reader who bumped into “Team Nolan” while jogging in Osterley Park (in West London). Christopher Nolan was scouting the Osterley Park House as a possible location for The Dark Knight Rises, and now it looks like it’s going to happen. The following comes from the Osterley House website:

This summer, we are taking the rare step to close Osterley House to the public for four days – on June 15, 16, 17 and 22, 2011 – for private hire. In addition, we are closing some rooms of the house on a phased basis from May 19, 2011 to July 3, 2011.

The shoot is expected to include interior shots only, and Bilal Bhatti snapped a picture of a sign that names one of the rooms in particular. Bhatti adds that a dining room will also be part of the shoot. Click the image below to enlarge:

While nothing is confirmed, it seems likely that the scenes shot inside the Osterley Park House will double as Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises. As far as Wayne Manor’s exterior? I’m sure it’ll look just like it did in Batman Begins… brick-for-brick.

    Cool I hope they do that dinner scene from Dark Victory with Bruce and Selina having dinner across the long table from one another (which I think was taken from Batman 89 rw/ Vicki Vale).

    Anyhow, I think its safe to say that a new BatCave is on the wayif this is true!

    New Wayne Manor = Batcave.
    I wanna know if the new batcave will be filled of computers and those bizarre “trophies”… I guess not, ’cause in fact, is the very begining of the cave as we know! Only in the third movie…

    Glad to ear that they´re filming only interior shots even if don´t know for sure that this is to be used for Wayne Manor. Personally and for the sake ofcontinuity I would prefer them to use once again the Mentmore Towers in Buckinghamshire…

    O.K , I would not usaly comment on this , but it seems a bit quite on the news front at the minute , Take this info with a huge grain of salt , Comicbookmovie reports , possible new villian cast ? and possible Alfred spoilers !

      I did see that report, unfortunately. I don’t want to report that type of news here, and I’d ask that we try to keep the comments here on topic. I just don’t want someone to come here to talk about Osterley Park as Wayne Manor and read a spoiler that isn’t related to what this post is about.

          It’s OK :) I’m with you though… all this location news is pretty boring. If history repeats itself, we might be getting some more official pictures this month. In June 2007, we got the first official shots of Batman and the Batpod!

     i hear that they are using wollaton hall in nottingham as wayne manor… i hear this because nolan was seen there. it has leaked out from employees that nolan will be filming there, but their bosses wouldnt say what he was filming. doesnt take a genius to put 2 and 2 together. they were also casting for extras in notingham for a formal high society scene for a film that was so big that they couldnt tell us due to confidentiality contracts.

    interested to see how this pans out.

      Can confirm Wollaton Hall is closed from 20th June to 6th July for a major film.

         that does include the filming dates we were given at the audition. im not saying what the actual days are though out of respect for the fact that even the employees are sworn to secrecy. dont wanna spoil my chance of a part.
