What do you think of it Chris? This could be from the TDK set don´t you think so?

    • http://batman-news.com Batman-News.com

It could be, but the SHH article says it was taken in Pittsburgh.

      • Antrozous

Amazingly it is the SWAT truck that is making me suspicious, why there is always a SWAT vehicule around?

        • Anonymous

Well it would fit with the plot, Batman always seems to attract heavy police attention after all and for cost reasons they tend to recycle props from previous films. Though its true people in the past have used old photos to trick us. Anyway, I HOPE it is back, its become our generations batmobile, plus the bat-pod was pretty nifty too.

      • Julian Davila

Don’t you think the SHH article could be lying just for the heck of it ? :) Im just saying.

I think it’s safe to say that Wayne Ent built more than 1 tumbler.

    • bradley

She was built as a bridging vehicle, though they never could get the damn bridge to work.

Yes! My baby is back! Haha

I gotta get me one of those!! – I need to get Batman to pick me up in it so that we can go look for some Pgh Chicks!! – Happy to be living in Pgh right now, and waiting for the Gotham Rogues football game at Heinz Field on Aug 6th!!

I think this whole thing is a cover up. I don’t think Nolan only destroyed tumbler for the bat pod, a second car is inevitable. Come to think of it, The Dark Knight still would to with tumbler itself but Nolan put the bike out of nowhere.

    I’m still hoping a something new will be introduced in TDKR…. 1.Tumbler  2.Bat-pod  3.???

    • Amir Mukhtar

      Bat-attack-helicopter

  • NinjaBat

Nice to see they kept the tumbler. I’ve seen some of the concepts of a new batmobile and they all look like crap or at least not fit to the tone and mood of this Batman trilogy. I even heard rumors about a helicopter.

But I like the tumbler and am glad to see it’s still going to be a part of the film

  • JimmyFraska

Looks a bit too much like the original for my taste.  I was hoping he’d have a slightly redesigned one.  I hope this is just from TDK.

  • bradley

Haha they covered the part of the SWAT truck that said it was Gotham, probably so less people would stare at it.

  • Ben Biddiscombe

Didn’t Fox say that two were used to jump over ravines towing cables for the bridge?

    • David

      Yeah,that’s what he said.I remember

    • TheRiddler

That is so brilliant! i never thought of that quote until just now. Thats really the best possible reason to have the same tumbler. Well done mate! although i thought they said they were redesigning it.

    • Antrozous

Yes, he did said that but he was talking about the all idea of building them for the military but I had the idea it never pass the prototype phase.

Lucius Fox says: “we never could get the damn bridge to work, but this baby works just fine.”

      • Anonymous

“During combat, two of these would jump over a river towing cables…” – So they’d need two for testing purposes I would assume.

Unless they tried testing it with one, which might explain why the damn bridge never worked! :o)

        • Antrozous

Yeah, makes much more sense that they have another prototype stashed somewhere than to build another one from scratch and ending up to look just like the old Tumbler. In the end of the day I´m glad it´s the same veichule, I mean, The Tumbler is like a character on its own and he deserves to come back…

          • Anonymous

Agreed man, it’s an awesome design.

Antrozous, is my second favourite track on the album too!

  • Ben Biddiscombe

    Sorry, double post.

  • Guest

    I think its a Decoy…

  • David

This may very well be from The Dark Knight Rises set,But why is the Batpod covered??!!But not the Tumbler? That’s not because they didn’t have bigger material to cover it! It makes sense it’s from The Dark Knight set, because back then, they didn’t want people to see the Batpod..But the Tumbler was already known to people and that’s why it wasn’t covered

  • Anonymous

Assuming this is real and not just a decoy, I’ll be happy to see the same bat mobile. It adds to the realism of the movie. What are the chances of Lucius designing a new vehicle so soon after Batman blew up the last one? It’s more plausible that he had a second one storage. I’m sure Batman fans were looking forward to having a new vehicle, but these movies shouldn’t feel like toy commercials.

    • David

Yeah,I feel more comfortable seeing the Tumbler again. It rocks!

    • Anonymous

Yeah. The last time one of these movies felt like a toy commercial, the Batsuit had nipples.

      *Shudders*

  • TDKR2012

I’ve got no problem not seeing a re-invented/new batmobile… the Tumbler looked/and still is awesome. if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! (no pun intended)

  • Collin V.

    Damn it, I peeked!

  • http://www.facebook.com/Abe.Jasper Jasper Chiong

is that only one wheel on the front?

  • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ One_Eyed_Willie

So, the Bat will use his whole arsenal this time, hum? Yeah, the tumbler is the best… but I thought they would improve the model as they did to the suit.

    • Anonymous

I am , glad its back , it is such a symbol of Nolans Batman world , its like a member of the family .

  • BatmanRulez!

Thats not the old Tumbler! its only got 1 wheel at the front!

    • IamVengeance

It has two wheels, it’s just a strange angle.  Look at the top of the front wheels and you’ll see.

  • 1990′s Batfan

why does the trailer say universal ???

  • Batz

Everybody is expecting a little too much and I think you all might get a little dissapointed.  I mean, what if Nolan decided to keep the exact same suit, exact same batpod and tumbler and not introduce any new tech.  What if he kept it all the same, at least that’s what I think and I’m not dissapointed.  A new bat-car has been talked about so much that people are almost started to think of it as a fact.

    • TDKR2012

I agree completely, of course upgrades, new tech, etc… are fun eye-candy and to speculate about, but the point is, at the end of the day, they’re not essentials to the movie… If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Nolan is trying to continue/conclude from where The Dark Knight left off… Even the title is related directly to the previous movie, The Dark Knight Rises.

Who knows, maybe brand new gear is too distracting, and Nolan wants to put more focus into other things…. i’d rather a better movie than new gear…. But who knows, maybe we can have it all :)

I’m almost certain the Batpod will be present in the movie, not just because of the spy photos, but because it’s something people know and love. (that scene at the end of The Dark Knight where batman goes into the light was WAY too iconic!)
And The Dark Knight suit, i thought, was perfect as well. I’d be completely satisfied if they kept it the same (that includes minor upgrades to the suit of course :) )
And honestly, i do expect at least one new Batman toy to be shown in the film, whether vehicle or not (like the Sonar vision or Sticky explosive gun)

Perhaps this is for a flashback?

  • Tigre

Im working on a imax theater and I can confirm, the description is 100% exact

  • JamieSon

Lol SWAT Vehicles seem to be always be in Nolan’s Batman. However if you remember in  Batman Begins Ducard and the League of Shadows arrive at the Bridge to go into the Narrows in a SWAT vehicle posing as SWAT. Perhaps the League of Shadows will arrive once again in a SWAT vehicle. Or even more obvious its just police lol, perhaps a call for police is related to the football game ?. Who knows but it’s all very exciting !

  • NolanBat

….you people realize there was more than one tumbler right? remember when Fox said in the first one that they were build as bridging vehicles and TWO of them would jump across whatever it was they were bridging. just sayin

  • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ One_Eyed_Willie

Maybe the Tumbler was used in flashback scenes…

A dream: Catwoman driving Bat-Pod. Anne will look very sexier in it.

    • Antrozous

Batman – What do you suggest Alfred? The car ot the bike?

      Catwoman – Why not both?

Just a little nod to Forever… xD

  • Ramonestthebatman

Idk I like the tumbler and the bat pod but I was hoping for a sleek batmobile thata not as heavy faster with updated technology

  • Chris 92595

i wouldn’t suppose the people at wayne ent. are like “what the hell is happening to all of out tumblers!”
