Awesome! I was still blown away even though I watched the bootleg a million times.

  • Madridista_amuerte09

who´s the guy behind batman ?

    • Madridista_amuerte09

      last scene

      • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Looks like SWAT….. the Silver is an interesting color choice for Swat….

        I noticed it too.

JGL and Cotillard are possibilities– their real characters havent been released (i dont buy released characters for one second)

      • http://www.facebook.com/vidKAHN Vid Koritnik

seems like some dude pointing a rifle.probably swat or maybe army.well i’m 100% sure it’s a dude pointing a rifle at bane (most likely not at batman) :)

      • Foah

it’s Bane – the guy who breaks batman’s back and puts him in a wheelchair

        • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

No the one behind Batman, blurry, far right.

    • xbox305

I still think he is the Riddler – the light is shining on his costume – but its def green to me. no joke

      • bradley

        No.

      • Antrozous

        No it isn´t.

I WAS excited for this movie.
NOW I’m just about ready to build a time machine and set it to July 20, 2012…

I am IN LOVE with this trailer. LONG LIVE BATMAN!!!!

    • Thejokersmiles13

LONG LIVE BANE!!!! He is one bad dude.

  • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

I was hoping the figure at the end of the trailer was our first glimpse of Catwoman (from the bootleg it was hard to tell) but this has just completely re-affirmed that Nolan is the only person capable of taking a campy character like Bane and making him real. This bodes very well for Kyle AND the lazarus Pit (which I buy into, unless Nolan is going out of his way to confuse us which is a distinct possibility)

  • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Who wants to take bets on when the viral marketing will kick into high gear? I think this week.

    • Madridista_amuerte09

I think these´re very good reasons…..I completely agree

  • TheRiddler

I saw a comment somewhere about the picture with the guy in a ski mask and a suit jump out the window. i think that is how Bruce is there. not in bat suit. but that he walks in the hospital as Bruce Wayne and before he goes in the room puts the mask on…just a though lol…amazing teaser

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

interesting interpretation of the Black Mask scene we saw…. I always thought we could look forward to Black Mask as a character, perhaps JGL’s cop is a dirty one?

I am DYING to know what happened to Jim! Arkham?

      • TheRiddler

Just my thought again but i think Bane almost killed him

        • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

What better way to get Batman’s attention?

          • TheRiddler

and bring him out of hiding…

        • Unique Jenique

I thought so too, but didn’t Gordon have a heart attack in the comic books? Perhaps that is what is going on. If Bane had broken his back, it looks like he should be in a cast or something. I didn’t see that in the trailer…???

      • karan

my guess for the mysterious figure standing behind batman is either black mask or…..here it comes guys….”Deadshot” with his gun….if u go back to the comics and the gotham knight cartoon u will notice dat….Deadshot is contracted to assassinate Batman by the Russian Mafia, using a contract on James Gordon as bait to lure Batman out…so it kind of connects…but who are we kiddin its nolan…who can never be trusted…we ll just hv to wait an watch

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

    • MODyssey

That was me. Yeah, you can even tell in this trailer that Bruce is wearing a mask. In the first shot you can make out the side of his head…no details like an ear or hair, etc…just completely smooth like the ski mask he wears in Begins.

      • TheGoddamnBatman

Very good point about how Bruce wore that ski mask in Begins! Maybe if/when Bane dominates Batman in a fight, he destroys some of his suit and possibly his cowl and mask? I mean…I would think Bruce would have spare cowls and stuff (seeing as they ordered a shipment of 10,000 parts to “avoid suspicion” in Begins), but a destroyed costume seems like it would be a good reason to just wear a black mask.

…or maybe he quit being Batman (since Gordon implied the Batman is gone), and didn’t want to wear the suit, but he needed to talk to Gordon so he just put on a mask. Eh?

        • Banebreakswayne

but if what you say is true why is bruce not changing his voice into batman’s lower voice like in the dark knight cause you clearly hear his normal (bruce wayne) voice.

          • TheGoddamnBatman

Meh, it’s kind of a whisper. I’m really just spitballin’. Hahah, I get what you’re saying though, and I’m probably way off.

          • Array528

He doesn’t make the voice because the ‘BAT SUIT’ makes the voice. In Batman Begins you see him building a headset into the earpiece of the cowl… but it also runs down to his throat in the cowl. The Bat Suit has electronics that alter Bruce Wayne’s voice. Think about it. If he was just making the voice what if he was caught off guard and surprised… he’d just revert to his normal Bruce Wayne voice. There is evidence of this theory when Batman is hit with Dr. Crane’s  hallucinogen and freaks outs. He is disorientated, hallucinating and panicking but he still maintains the bat-voice. I don’t care HOW disciplined of a martial artist a person is if you are thrown that off your rocker its EXTREMELY difficult to maintain focus and composure. Ergo the Bat Suit alters Bruce Wayne’s voice.

    • Unique Jenique

that is EXACTLY what I thought, TheRiddler. You can kind of see the outline of a mask while Gordon is talking. I said, “Yup, Bruce put on a mask before going into the room, walked in, and pretended he is Batman.” EPIC!

  • BatFan

There’s little details in this trailer =(

    but it still rocks!!

    • Thejokersmiles13

That’s the beauty if it, they only been shooting for 2 months this christmas come very early =)!

  • BatFan

There’s little details in this trailer =(

    but it still rocks!!

  • Chris

Loved it – what do you make of the scene where the person is climbing out of the well – something about the movements of the arms and legs was creepy to me. And it looked like they were wearing rags. Wasn’t there a rumor about some kid climbing out of a well dressed in rags? Thoughts?

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

if it was a girl it could be talia? bruce didnt climb out of the well–we know that! nolan doesnt ignore his own canon.

    • TheGoddamnBatman

I was thinking the exact same thing. I mean, there are so many questions I have about the trailer, but the person climbing out of the hole intrigued me the most. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s Bane. I only say that because of the rumors/reports a while ago of a bald-headed kid walking out of a “pit”, and putting a hood over his head. But with the amount of info we’re given…my guess could be completely off.

      • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Nolan tends toward symmetry with his use of children…I’d be interested to see the kid because that will be very telling. I mean Catwoman, Bane, Talia….they all involve climbing and pits to some degree, Nolan makes excellent choices about the overlap of his characters.

    • Jimmy James

I have a feeling that that’s probably Bane as a child. Seems like the only relevant possibility at this point.

      • Anton Recto

the rags the person is wearing could be worn out, torn, clothes. and the movement looks a little sluggish, a bit groggy, like that person just woke up and climbed or something. the well could be the Lazarus Pit. what if it’s Ra’s? :)

  • Veronica-bellotti

showing too much of the old batman film

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

      Which is probably extremely telling.

  • Anonymous

    Cool Trailer!!!

  • Hersito

This is far fetched, even more for the baman nolan verse, but imagine this: Bane brakes the bat he is crippled, but he finds out what a lazarus pit is and that bane got his power from there and he goes to the lazarus pit and he can walk again… we see him coming out of the lazarus pit, re born just like when he was a kid and came out from the well he fell…

    • Ryan17

Good theory but why would it say and this evil rises at this point, personally I think it’s bane

  • Steve Sweden

I think its Bane climbing out of the well, and it looks like Bruce doing press ups in a prison with a beard. That last shot with the guy in white in the background is freaking me out, its all so menacing!

    that is all…

  • SammyDoja

I heard that the prison that Bruce Wayne is at in Batman Begins is going to be the same prison that Bane will be in/out of

  • Collomg

Could the guy in the background in the last scene be the “mad scientist” rumored?

  • Dustin Morley

I feel as if the third person in the final scene is someone working with Bane, due to the guy obviously not trying to help Batman. In the comics Bane had several people working with him, and that would make sense since he’s considered to be a master strategist.

  • Anonymous

I guess all the naysayers who saw the bootleg versions last week and said they were fake can shut up now. The trailer raises a lot of questions, which is what a good trailer should do. For example, who’s climbing out of the pit? I know people are saying it’s the Lazarus Pit, but what if it’s the well Bruce fell down in when he was a kid? Also, if that’s Bruce doing pushups, why is he in a jail cell? Lastly, who is that guy in the background behind Batman? He looks like he’s armed. It suggests that Batman has been cornered and now Bane is getting ready to finish him. I know a lot of people are expecting the movie to be about Batman being broken and then rising up. But doesn’t that sound a little too much like a Rocky movie? Seeing Bruce doing pushups conjured up images of Stallone training after losing to Mr. T.

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

I would think the epic breaking of Batman would happen late in the film– Gotham needs to rise up on its own two legs sometime.

      • Postogirl2006

That sounds like a Nolan move.

    • David

Hey.I was one of them. But now that the teaser has come online,I gotta say:The teaser does raise a lot of questions and this is the good aspect of it.But I’m still of the opinion that it would’ve been better without the screen cards

    • MODyssey

I think Bruce in the jail cell is a flashback…I’m thinking we may see more of his journey from Begins told in flashback, as well as his training with Ra’s.  I’d be willing to bet that if Bane is a member of the LOS, that they’ve met before.  They could actually establish some sort of rivalry between them that began while he was still in training.

      • Julian

I really like this idea, I think it would make a great story and really tie the movies together. I hope you’re right.

    • Array528

The film is ‘NO MAN’s LAND’!!!!!

Doesn’t anyone see it with e crumbling buildings concept art??? IT’s NO A METAPHOR for gotham crumbling and Batman rising to the occasion… it’s LITERALLY GOTHAM CRUMBLING from the Cataclysm.

The Man in the background could either be one of BANE’s henchmen or a completely different villain. Nolan is Notorious for red herrings. He’s announced BANE and CATWOMAN because he doesn’t want it t get out that there is going to be a SHIT-LOAD of villains despite the 2-3 main villains.

With GOTHAM hit by an earthquake and the city having recently had the horror of the JOKER and HARVEY TWO-FACE the possibilities are now limitless for deranged psychopaths with flares for the theatrical. BATMAN pooled the waters… the CLOWN flooded the levies… and now the dam has collapsed.

    EPIC NOLAN IS LEGEND
    I cant wait…

  • Torpedo86

Am I the only person who thinks Gordon is talking to Harvey?  Idk, it just makes more sense to me if it was.  Why hide his face & just show an arm.  Idk we’ll have to wait & see.

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Aaron wasn’t brought back in– no Two-Face.

      • Torpedo86

Yeah but there’s another character who wasn’t supposed to be back for this film & is showing up after all.  So idk what to believe anymore haha

        • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

I’ll buy into it when we see Aaron on set. Liam and the Lazarus Pit are showing up at the same time… which makes sense.

          • http://twitter.com/gautamvalluri Gautam Valluri

They could’ve shot his scene as a cameo..in super secrecy. Knowing Nolan, that is possible. I’m not discounting a Two-face comeback.

          • Julian

If it’s an indoor shot, then it would be really easy to keep secret. Drive Aaron into the building in a van, shoot the scene, then leave. I don’t think it’s Harvey though, he’s dead, so it can only be two-face. Isn’t that how two-face says it in the comics? I remember reading somewhere two-face saying that Harvey is dead.

It would also make sense that it’s two-face wearing a mask because obviously half his face is messed up.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_AU45ZJ3LVAEGQF2LI3RPTA6BZI Luis

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF BAT DOES GET HIS BACK BROKEN BUT HARVEY RISES UP TO TO HELP THE DARK KNIGHT SIDE BY SIDE AS THE WHITE KNIGHT…JUST A THOUGHT

    • Ignition

I actually just had that thought myself

    • Bryanbreguet

Why would you even think that? That makes zero sense. Gordon wasn’t “in it” with harvey Dent (if anything, these two spent an entire movie arguing about everyting), he was in it with the Batman. And then, if it’s Harvey, why is Gordon saying “the Batman has to come back”?

  • http://twitter.com/gautamvalluri Gautam Valluri

Did anyone else notice all the vapours coming off Bane when he climbs up to level Bats? Could it be that he’s ‘rising’ from a pit full of venom?

  • Weathertop9

Who is that in the background filming the Batman/Bane fight???!!!  Pause it around 1:20.  Looks similar to the first official look at Bane, where it appears there’s a camera filming him.  Seems to be a very public menace, this Bane.  I wonder if he will unmask the Batman publicly?

    • http://twitter.com/gautamvalluri Gautam Valluri

This COULD be the batcave you know!

      • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Still wouldnt explain who is in white unless Bane’s men wear white… or Alfred decided to put on a parka.

  • Antrozous

Now that´s more like it Mr. Wayne! Nothing like good old HD to see things clearer!

Gordon says: “Batman must come back, he must” so if it is Bruce standing there Gordon already knows Batman´s identity by that time which points to be in the second half of the movie…

And Batman looks really battered, I would say this is first encounter with Bane…

  • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ One_Eyed_Willie

    Finally!
The final sequence of Bane rising from the corner to fight the Bat give me the creeps! I can’t figure who is the sniper in white behind them…

Something tells me that the climbing guy is Bane… but he moves in a strange way, as he do at the end of the trailer.

    • Anonymous

Love it ! The thing i find most intresting is Batman still in TDK suit , this suggets this happens early on in the movie , Who the hell is the sniper ? My guess , JGL , and it looks like , he has a swat vest on , is he aiming at Batman or BANE ? Questions , Questions ,Questions ?

      • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ One_Eyed_Willie

JGL? Could be… but it’s too premature to talk about that! Could be Josh Stewart… but the swat team wearing white is a bit occurd

        Check out this guy:
        http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0310622/

        A blind prisioner? WTF???

        • Anonymous

          Intresting ! good find !

  • Anonymous

I hate to say it, but if Batman has become a legend… it
could be somebody else beneath the mask in the end. I would not like it, but
it’s a possibility (JGL, obviously). I hope that Bruce won’t die or stay
    crippled for sure.

The man climbing up the “well” is Bane (I have little doubt on that,
as already pointed out, this climbing is the image for the evil rising.) He
might be escaping the prison he spent all his youth in, or coming back from a
more “mystical” place like the Lazarus pit.

I really hope that the fight scenes will be better shot than in Begins, where
the skills displayed by the fighters were really good but the camera angle and zooming
making it to difficult to really get what was exactly going on (I’m a fight
scene freak and I love to get clear visibility of a fight, otherwise I feel
    cheated!).

As somebody already pointed out, Bane vs Batman should bring us the most
exciting physical stunts and fights ever seen in a batman movie.

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

I agree– Nolan will undoubtedly play with the “becoming a legend” motif; I have no idea how JGL is being used but I wouldnt be surprised if he turned out to be a Dick-Grayson of sorts (either way, good or bad, his character is more than it seems– can we all come together on that?)

I’m not sold on the climbing guy being Bane… I’ve been wrong before though. Can’t wait for viral campaigning!!

    • Matthew

The reason the fight scenes were filmed that way in Begins were to show you from a criminals perspective. Showing you Batman as this fast beings. Too fast in movement but so effective in taking down all the guys around you. As you saw in the Dark Knight it wasn’t filmed that way because Nolan took it from that perspective. There was no need to add the mystery of “Who is this mysterious figure? Where is he?” Everyone pretty much knew The Batman was real and not just a myth at least by the end of the film. Long Story Short, we will see this fight in all its glory with outstanding camera views, blow for blow. Damn the suspense is killing me!!!!

      • Anonymous

I agree matthew in regard to the reasons why Nolan shot the Begins’ fight scenes as he did, but it frustrated me still! =)  I thought that all the “ninja” things batman makes to scare the criminal is enough to understand what they feel, but it’s only a point of view among others for sure. The Keysi fighting system was so cool that I would have loved to see it displayed in more details.

        • Antrozous

Let´s face it, Nolan had little experience in filming intense fight scenes, I clearly remembered that aspect being reported in some Batman Begins reviews.

        • Matthew

I agree. Ha ha I am happy they chose Keysi and not some sort of karate with him throwing unrealistic kicks when he can just go in and use his fists, forearms, or elbows. You have to agree the first fight scene at the docks when Batman whoops everyone’s ass and leaves them all laid out in about 5-10 seconds is sick.

          • Anonymous

            It was badass indeed! ^^’

      • David

Fighting scenes in Batman Begins were much more exciting than in The Dark Knight

  • darkjoker78

Could be young Ra’s climbing out the well but i think it will be bane. I also think that is Bruce in the hospital with gordon and he is wearing a balaclava just like he did when he spoke to Gordon for the first time in Begins and there have been pics of someone wearing a balaclava climbing through a window online and it also touches on the going full circle thing that Nolan was on about.

    • Torpedo86

But why would Bruce cover his face if Gordon already knew who he was?

      • MODyssey

Gordon DOESN’T know who he is…think of it as Batman visiting in plain clothes…hence the balaclava.  It would be much easier for him to get in and out of the hospital if he’s not in costume…especially with everyone gunning for him.  Someone interrupts this conversation between them and that’s why we have set pictures of a guy in a mask and dress suit climbing out of a hospital window.

      • David

So that if somebody comes in,they won’t recognize him

  • Ryan17

Amazing, does it’s job perfectly. Teases. By the way is bane wearing a jacket ?

    • Ryan17

I’ve paused it at 1:07 and I’m studying every single detail :P he looks amazing

      • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ One_Eyed_Willie

Yeah, it’s a motorcyclist leather jacket… but at the end of the trailer, he’s wearing a vest!

  • Guanoman

Yeah this can’t even be compared to the bootlegs. Wow. It is going to be one dark movie.
    And Bane looks SCARY.
My guess, JGL is in the back, young swat guy.

  • LE DARK KNIGHT RISESSS

This was brilliant – it really leaves me wanting more!
Now due to the stance of the guy in the background I’m guessing he was about to get involved in the battle, perhaps an ally of Batman. I’m not sure who it could be as it doesn’t remotley fit the Robin bill, or maybe its just a member of the league of shadows.

I also think that perhaps Bruce has turned himself in as the Batman allowing himself to begin cracking down on the corruption that JGL has bought to the GPD.

Oh and Bane looks so sick!

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

didnt think of the League! Good call!

  • jim

I think that that bruce is going away to grieve for Rachels death, crime in gotham rises, and catwoman is takin over but not as succesfully. Then Bane comes, bruce returns and that’s the begginning of the story

  • jim

I think that that bruce is going away to grieve for Rachels death, crime in gotham rises, and catwoman is takin over but not as succesfully. Then Bane comes, bruce returns and that’s the begginning of the story

    • Antrozous

No no no, Bruce only leaves after meeting Bane for the first time and this will happen in the first half of the movie. He would never leave unless it was really necessary(in this case to recover his health). There will be snow to show us how much time it passed, since Bruce will be gone for at least some months…

I think the League of Shadows will enter the scene right at the beginning of the movie.

      • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

if bruce leaves to heal it makes sense for the lazarus pit to come into play later in the movie…maybe our masked man is taking up batman’s slack while hes gone?

      • David

There’s no doubt Batman will be defeated by bane at first. But one fact is important.Batman’s already fallen. At the end of The Dark Knight,he became an outcast, chased by the police. So he doesn’t need to fall(be defeated by Bane)so that he can rise again. But now I see he will again fall by being defeated by Bane.

  • Myriam

Maybe the guy climbing out of the pit is Josh Pence as young Ra’s

Could someone tell me where i cant see that pictures with the man in a mask jumping a window???

  • Anonymous

I just can not get over how PUNY , Batman looks compared to BANE , some one should of told him ” know your limits , Master Wayne ”  O SH*T wait !

  • Vander

Interesting details: Bane is wearing what looks to be a leather jacket in his close-up shot.  Pause and study for yourself. Bruce is definitely behind bars, but the background looks odd for a prison. Where could he be? As somebody else pointed out, it looks like Bruce is talking to Gordon, but is wearing a black face mask but – the odd part – also a shirt with buttoned cuffs. I believe the figure climbing out of the hole is Bane, perhaps during his escape of whatever prison he’s supposed kept in? Finally, the mysterious figure in white is just that, a mystery. He or she doesn’t appear to be moving much.  People say he or she is holding a gun, but I’ve paused on this scene in multiple frames and cannot see anything other than a white, human-shaped blur.  I think people are simply making the gun stuff up.

I wonder how Cat Woman fits in, if Joker will at least be mentioned, what the remnants of the Mob have to do with the story, who Miranda Tate and John Blake really are, and how the League of Shadows and Ra’s Al Ghul will be used.  Thoughts?

    • Limp8369

i think is gonna be too bad if the joker is not even mentioned, that would be a lack of continuity, the pieces of TDK should fit and that includes the joker, but talking about pieces…. seems to be a lot in TDKRISES: bruce, selyna, bane, miranda tate and john blake (whoever?!), young Ra’s, Gordon, maybe Dent?

      • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Have faith: In Nolan We Trust…. i didnt think he could pull off putting Joker and Two Face in a “real” Batman movie at the same time without making both incredibly campy—I was really wrong; I didn’t think Scarecrow would ever be done well, I was wrong…. Nolan can pull this off.

    • Anonymous

Yeah your right , Bane is definetly , rocking , the leather jacket , Black face mask , intresting could not realy tell , would explain how Bruce could talk to Gordan as Batman ,

Finaly when BANE climbs out the pit , someone should tell him there is a rope , no one likes a show off = )

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

im getting sniper or SWAT from the fact that I cant think of many other relevant characters who would wear a full jumpsuit broken up by straps (particularly in White, if it was black I’d say catwoman) … I mean, I’m open to all suggestions, I think there’s a reason we got so much of the right side in frame, that person might be a clue. Nolan also probably loves that we are all beside ourselves with conspiracy theories right now.

  • Chris

Saw it when I went to see Harry Potter in HD, but it’s even better quality online! I love it. Also, looks like Bruce has a beard in the scene showing him doing pushups in that jail cell-looking room.

What is BATMAN covered in during the final scene of the trailer? some sorta steaming liquid…. could it be venom? gasoline? something else!?… needless to say, i didn’t expect the trailer to be THAT much better in HD… holy cow, it was sick!

    • Jurgenv

I think it’s just raining in that scene.

      • Julian

Rain is too simple for Nolan, it’s probably some sort of water raining from the sky that was caused by a huge explosion at a water tank… Oh, wait, I’m confusing Nolan with Michael Bay, yes, it’s just raining in that scene.

  • DevGau614

Ok… The final scene MUST be in the Bat Cave.  Based on the metal structures and the dripping water… I think Bane knows who TDK is (As in the comics), and goes to confront him head on.  By the looks of Batman in that scene… he’s already winded… having trouble keeping his hands up… and looks like he’s gotten in the clench with Bane once or twice already (the ears are missing from his mask.

It wouldn’t surprise me if that is Bane climbing out of the well.  After watching the well in Batman Begins, its definitely the same well.  I think its Bane climbing out.  Batman doesnt seem the type to climb out of his cave that way.  I’d think he’d have the elevator working or some other way to get out.  Still though, it wouldnt surprise me if Catwoman stepped in to try and pick up the slack for Batman being gone- and the Bane shows up, completely owns her, which brings Batman back- who also may get owned a time or two.

    • MODyssey

      It could be in Arkham…

    • Jurgenv

Don’t know what your looking at but the ears are still on the mask. :P

      • Julian

In the bootleg videos it was really dark and made it look like his ears were broken off, but in the HD version they are still there…

    • David

Haven’t you watched it in HD?! Because it clearly shows his ears on the mask

    • Leftysmoke

Batman’s ears are definitely still there. It doesn’t HAVE to be the bat cave, as we are all speculating at this point. The best puzzle piece I’ve seen thus far, is the photo of the man aka Bruce jumping from the window in the balaclava. This would explain why Bruce is wearing a mask in the hospital scene with Gordon.

    • Ben

What if the well he is clmbing out of is the one connected to the Bat Cave at Wayne Manor where Bruce fell? After he’s completely demolished Batman for the first time.

  • Typewritermonkey

I haven’t read all the comments, and my knowledge is limited to Batman films and Batman: Arkham Asylum, but what it the person at the back of the scene with Batman and Bane was Ra’s Al Ghul?

  • Dangle1970

I’ve been reading Batman for over 30 years…including Knightfall. Some things i’ve thought about from the trailer: that’s Bane climbing out of the well after The League of Shadows breaks out the inmates at the prison he’s been in since a boy (read somewhere Nolan filmed a prison break out scene): appears Nolan is using the Venom for Bane through the front of the mask (looks like tubes on the mask piece covering his face…i paused and studied the mask) or some sort of gas to bulk himself up: who that is in the background behind Batman is a mystery (NOT JGL…too fat): filming for the movie is still in its infancy so it appears the scenes in the trailer are THE beginning of the movie and the “well” scene COULD be a flashback sequence: also read that the scene with Gordon in the hospital is RIGHT out of the beginning of Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” series where an older retired Bruce is talking to Gorden about coming back, but looks like Nolan is taking all those elements and putting them together and creating his own version of Bane. As for the Lazerus pit rumors, the only theory i have is a young Ra’s Al Ghul (new actor hired to play him don’t forget) breaking out the inmates at the prison where Bane has been and Ra’s training Bane to be a member of The League. After Ra’s died in “Begins” (supposedly), Bane rises up to take over The League and vows to destroy Batman and Gotham (finish the job Ra’s failed to do). Catwoman’s part is just her doing her thing as a cat burglar until she get caught up in all this somehow. As usual…we’ll just have to wait and see.

    • Leftysmoke

You have some really good speculative points. However, I don’t agree with the “armed man” not being JGL just because of bulk. He looks short enough and is obviously wearing a tactical outfit, that would explain the bulk. If it isn’t JGL, it could be a member of The League that is working with Bane. Who knows? There might be twenty other League rogues in that fight, but not visible in that particular shot. It might even be a security guard and they are fighting within the prison?

It’s too easy to speculate when you have no idea what has happened before the fight. We shall see! The speculation and teaser is killing me. Especially the fight scene…

Re: the conversation between Bruce and GordonSometimes they will cut audio from different parts of the movie to sound like a conversation. For example (POSSIBLE HARRY POTTER SPOILER): In the official trailer for the last HP movie, Voldemort is heard saying “only I can live forever,” during the showdown with Harry. Having never read the books, it led me to believe that he was saying it to Harry during the final battle. In the movie, he doesn’t say that line to Harry at all, but to another character.I’m just saying that the part where Bruce says “what if he doesn’t exist” might just be cut from somewhere else. It is a teaser, after all.  IMO, however, I think Bruce visits him as Bruce Wayne (who’s gonna suspect Bruce Wayne coming to visit Gordon in the hospital?), but then tells Gordon he is Batman. At this time, Batman would have been gone from Gotham for a while now since he’s on the run (though he’s hiding in plain sight as Bruce). It would explain why he’s not disguising his voice if, in fact, he’s in the room. Also,  Gordon clearly looks at the other person when he says “we were in this together, then you were gone.”Lastly, I think the “well” in this teaser trailer looks way to big to the the well in Batman Begins. Have a look at the shot where young Bruce falls in the well:http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ-Q56ZMhemoAyRBMtzbFZ7uaUTiLKgm-NMJ0sTcAL6ZjonhBbJ

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Bruce and Gordon have no social interaction in the first two movies–i don’t think it’s a social call.

    • Antrozous

Very nice point in there! Despite this hospital scene was filmed early doesn´t mean it´s something from the beginning of the story. On the contrary, I believe this scene will take place around the middle of the plot, when things in Gotham hit the bottom.

That scenario of Bruce coming to the hospital and then reveal himself as Batman to Gordon isn´t that far fetched at all we don´t know if Gordon will survive so…

Regarding the well I also think this one is a little larger than the one where Bruce once fell so maybe it´s in another context but at the same time creating a paralelism between wells.

Probably it´s the young Bane climbing, a direct contrast to Bruce who had to be rescued by his father, after all we know that this trilogy will much be about family legacies…

  • http://twitter.com/Set_Gecko Arthur Lee

i dont know about you guys, but simply taking bane and making him the leader of LOS to try bringing down gotham AGAIN seems to be too much of a cop out to be true with Nolan. Think about it – it would be like filming the same idea twice. That would suck and that would be predictable. I think Bane  must provide that enigmatic character like joker, but this time – maybe Bane would be a mix of Bane and that guy who batman left in charge after his back was broken. Maybe Bane is looking to rid gotham of the crime, but in his own, purist way, with disregard for human lives etc. (like that dude azrael was). LOS are not bad guys, after all. but where they just want to destrot gotham, bane might want to purify it. At the end of the day, admit it guys, batman didnt do his job well: all his softy tactics only lead to escalation (TDK), and joker DID win in the end (corrupted harvey). so bane might be related to LOS, but put this new twist on how he deals with things. Show him as a better version of Bruce in every way – even that scene where Bane is climbing out (and that IS bane, cause the narrator   says “this evil rises” wouldnt make sense for it to be bruce, plus fits bane’s physical persona), bruce didnt climb out. Remember how Bane was a self made man in the comics, whereas Bruce was raised in wealth (as pointed out in BB by the mob boss in their talk – prince of gotham he calls him). So bane comes, breaks batman, starts purifying city of crime, develops that emotional bond with the viewer (nolan always stresses how important that is), turns into villian along the way, then batman comes to stop him. but that sounds too much like white knight arc developed by harvey…..your thoughts?

  • Dangle1970

Again…what I said is just a theory…doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what we’re going to see on the big screen. It is Nolan and he surprised me both times with Begins and TDK. They were two of my favorite comic book movies of all time..maybe even my top favorites, compared to some of the others that have been released in the past few years (except for Iron Man, SpiderMan II, and 1978 Superman). What Nolan has planned i’m sure will be nothing less than pure greatness…he did it twice, i’m sure he can do it a third time…and if he does, he will probably have completed the BEST comic book movie trilogy ever made (any other CBM trilogy better?)…again, CBM trilogy…not to confuse some of you lost fanboys with the LOTR trilogy which was THE BEST trilogy ever made…second…Episodes IV, V, VI Star Wars (not the Jar Jar Binks garbage!!!) So for you fanboys telling us to STFU…again, just a theory. Relax.

So upon closer inspection, it looks like Batman has some sort of add-ons to his forearm gauntlets and the person in the background appears to be hanging from one of the many chains that you can see and they’re grasping at their throat.

      • Leftysmoke

Wow. I didn’t even notice that the figure in the back of the fight scene seems to be grasping for their throat. Maybe that is someone Batman is trying to rescue, or possibly a security guard that has been hung during the prison break out? Now a lot of things are going through my mind. Thanks for pointing this out!

seems like Gordon knows who Batman is this trailer, maybe that will be it since Gordon was there when Bruce’s parents were killed to comfort Bruce. Bruce is there to help Gordon in hospital, hope they go back to that scene in BB. It would bring the team of Gordon and Batman closer and rap it up right. Oh and there goes any rumors that Alfred was the on in hospital. Bane looks kick ass, but I think Nolan will make Bane break the Bat in a different way rather then breaking his back, we would need another film for that and this is the last one…

Awesome Trailer makes us all so excited. Bane is looking very intimidating and scary.
It’s still a mystery to me though who is in the background and why. But they biggest mystery is how a young ra’s al ghul is involved in this story ? I can only think that he teaches the ways of the League of Shadows to his daughter Talia and Bane becomes her bodyguard, but a casting for Talia al ghul isn’t even listed at IMDb. How Catwoman is connected is also a mystery lol any thoughts anyone ?

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

      might’ve taught bane!

      • JamieSon

Perhaps, there is a reason for a young Ra’s al ghul to take place in this story. It may very well have been to teach bane !

  • Archie

Just read the comicbook Knightfall… maybe they will get som inspiration from this one. Bane brakes Batmans back and almost kills him and leaves Gotham in ruins. But there is this drug that can help batman… thinking about the flower maybe or the gas/venom bane uses. Im almost sure that at some point in the movie Bane will crush Batman. Thats why he cant come back as he says in the trailer. It will be some kind of “Why do we fall bruce? so we can learn to pick ourselfs up” That is why gotham has to fall as it does in the trailer… so it can build itself up again…  What u guys think?

    • Thejokersmiles13

There has to be some references from the Knightfall story, I mean there’s alot in there that they can use in the movie without it being campy or illogical. Bane breaking the prisoners out of Arkham, beating the crap out of batman, becoming the new crime lord of gotham, etc. I mean there’s alot to go on so I wouldn’t be surprised.

I want Bane to whoop Batman’s ass but I also want Batman to go down swinging and heal so he can come back and take it to Bane and whomever else thought they could mes with The Dark Knight. He is officially the Hero Gotham needs now. So they’ll beg him to come back and protect them…and he will.  Only 12 months to go. No problem.

  • Vibe95

the guy behind batman looks like one of banes thugs. if bane had any. and that is definitely bane batman is backing away from

  • Thejokersmiles13

Only 367 days left to go!! O my goodness I can’t wait and can’t believe it’s only 2 and a half months into shooting and we have this footage. Bane is going to be one bad dude in this, Tom Hardy is going to knock it out the park. I’ll probably end up watching this teaser everyday until another one comes out. I’m so glad I went to Harry Potter (which was very good by the way) cuz I got to see this as well, 2 for 1 well worth it.

  • Thejokersmiles13

I just want to say too that there has been some criticism aimed at that the hospital scene where oldman’s gordon is lying pain and speaking very low, they been saying its cringe worthy and very un-Nolan like, personally I find nothing wrong at all wrong with it because for all we know that could very well be a rough cut of the scene designed specifically for trailer purposes. The final could cut could be very different and I think some should relax and be not so quick to overreact, it’s only a teaser and very awesome one to say the least. I just wanted to get that out there.

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

it is unlike nolan to use elements in the trailer he doesnt use in the final cut– he’s extremely meticulous– but it’s a good idea to take the whole trailer with a chill-pill

      • Thejokersmiles13

he has before, look back at The Dark Knight trailer, there are 2 or 3 lines I think that the Joker delivers a certain way in the trailer but when you watch the movie they come across a different way. “Kill the Batman, Here’s my Card and Why So Serious? the first time, Ledger’s delivery of those 3 lines in the trailer were different from how he delivered them in the movie and yeah everyone who is judging harshly definitely needs a chill pill, it’s 2 months and a half months into shooting.

  • mjm12

Okay three things I noticed first time around on the HD, that haven’t been discussed much… A) Ra’s lines seemed to be re-recorded from Begins? or at least the last bit… maybe that’s why Neeson was scene near this set… or maybe it just confirms his role (which was supposedly a huge secret). B) The chanting from the viral site seems to play more of a role in the film than I thought. I originally thought it was just some BS coverup for the .wav audio file that led to  #thefirerises. C) Bane’s back looks HUGE and Batman looks completely dejected and beat down! So excited for that brawl…

  • Dustin Morley

The teaser trailer has inspired me to re-read the Knightfall books… but it’s slow going just because the art is really lacking.

Anyway, I did some research and found out that Bane did meet Ra’s in a story arc and become his heir after Batman and Ra’s had a falling out. I had not heard that before, and find it odd given all the theories of the two possibly being connected.

And then a couple of interesting things from Knightfall: Bane works hard to break Batman in Knightfall. He breaks the inmates out of Arkham when Batman is already sick and then studies Batman religiously. Also, the Joker has a fairly sized role in Knightfall and works with Scarecrow. Obviously and sadly the Joker isn’t returning, but I do wonder about Scarecrow though Cillian Murphy hasn’t been mentioned as being recruited for the film.

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

i think Nolan wanted to play with some new characters– ive noticed some references to Long Halloween and a little Red Hood so it might just be that Nolan wasn’t into using the same characters for a second/third time.

  • maiguancai

Is that a teardrop on Bane’s face? Someone says not, but I can’t think of any other possibility.

  • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Ok…this dawned on me….Guy in Black Mask, Guy in White Suit watching what might be Batman getting his Back Broken… JGL as a cop…. What if JGL becomes Jean-Paul Valley? What if thats why the Knight must rise again–to preserve the better image of Batman?

    I love this guessing game!

  • DevGau614

new update!!  he Does have the ears!  you have to look right!  still, he’s already seeming winded!  maybe he’s playing to whoop the snot outta bane!

    • Antrozous

Come on, we are tired of knowing that Batman is going down is the first round…

  • Unique Jenique

God! And I thought I watched the LEAKED version a million times!!!! This one is so good. I didn’t even realize the guy standing behind Batman as Bane approaches. I don’t know who that is. It does look like Swat with guns. But why are they wearing gray/white??? GOD I LOVE THIS. Can’t wait for next summer!

  • ???GuEsS WhO????

i know people have interpreted the chanting in several languages to mean something but in spanish they are chanting BANE BANE KILL HIM KILL HIM! could be a hispanic prison or it could be just for the trailer.

  • Darkknight3

Brilliant for a build-up to the movie! Im sure that the guy climbing up is Josh Pence role of Ras Al Gul…remember they were actually shooting in Jodhpur in a fort (India) and it had a spot where they were near a well with a green screen…could be the emergence of Ras and Bane being his prime disciple! wat say guys?

    • JamieSon

Darkknight 3 I thought a similiar thing myself maybe Ra’s is in rises to teach the ways of the league of shadows to Bane. But then I thought about how old Bane would be in this scenario and I am guessing perhaps a boy. So I am not sure. Maybe Ra’s is in rises to pass on what he has to his daughter Talia al ghul ?

      • Darkknight3

@ JamieSon…I would like to think that Ras would surely have thought that Bruce would one day let him down due to his compassion….so to tackle that notion,….he would create a beast without compassion…hence the character of Bane…should be a Boy in that scene from that perspective! Surely looks like a terrific story arc…and i foresee a strong twist in Talia’s role as you mentioned.

  • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ Willie

Dammit! I think we’ll have another trailer only at the end of the year… well, until than we’ll have some virals and pics at least.

Comic Con? are you sure? Yeah… until then, I’ll hit my head on the walls of such excitement!

  • Xbox305

I believe the guy in the background that appears to be wearing white actually looks green to me – I dont want to spoil anything but I believe this is the riddler…2 master strategists.

    • Xbox305

The light is shining on the green costume in my opinion making it look like its white…

      • Thesilverstcloud

There’s not many lights in casual use that would make green appear white… certainly it would create an entirely different lighting effect. I don’t like to be a naysayer but we need to abandon the Green Suit theory, this is very much your eyes seeing what you want. Telling you– visible light spectrum tells me that probably is just a white or gray suit.

    • Thesilverstcloud

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/debbiedowner/news/?a=42069  and just to be clear: gold light that would give wood that tone and the black batsuit that tone would not make green fabric appear white

I wouldve loved JGL as Riddler but lets face it…Bane, Catwoman, Ra’s (possibly Talia) … Riddler would make for one too many cooks in the evil kitchen.I dont think this Bane needs Riddler to do his strategies for him.

      • Thejokersmiles13

I would of loved JGL as the Riddler, it’s excellent casting and perfect too but no matter how great he would of been the comparisons to the Joker would be too similar. Bane, Catwoman, Ra’s and maybe Talia are excellent choices for the final film. I think we are all dying to see Bane depicted in the proper right way unlike that embarrassment in B&R, even the creators of Bane hated how he was portrayed.

  • JamieSon

Some may already be aware of this but everyone else I just found this when researching the Knightfall Saga, it is most interesting !

    Batman: Legacy

This crossover event involves a rematch between Batman and Bane, who is now allied with Ra’s al Ghul. It is followed by the one-shot graphic novel Batman: Bane.

    • JamieSon

Bane encounters the League of Assassins and eventually Bane impresses
Ra’s al Ghul so much that he chooses Bane as his heir (an “honor” he
      had previously imparted on Batman)]
Ra’s al Ghul and Bane then launch a plague attack on Gotham in the “Legacy” storyline. Bruce Wayne, again costumed as Batman, gets his rematch with Bane in Detective Comics #701 and finally defeats him in single combat

  • Blue Demon

I’m from México, and the chanting doesn’t sound “Bane bane, mátalo mátalo (translated as: bane, kill him) to me, like someone else is saying, In fact, it doesn’t sounds any hispanic, it is just incomprehensible

    • Tomgrosset

Sounds like they’re saying “This is Arkham, Arkham, This is Arkham.. *repeat*…”

    • Isaac

i believe ur right with the translation meaning that there is probably going to be an epic fight between Bane and Batman in Arkham Asylum, thats what i think is happening at the end of this trailer.

  • mike

The last scene, great to see Batman backing off and gasping for air, ìt is a fight inside the prison. And by the way, there is no Lazarus Pit in this movie, mark my words. The mask that Bane has is a prison mask because he has bit off a few noses from gards in prison.

    • JamieSon

Maybe there is no Lazarus Pit. But there is some sort of pit you see imagery of it from the gallery but it does look like a fighting/ training pit.

    • Tomgrosset

I completely disagree. The first place Chris was shooting was in India and looked to be like a lazarus pit. Plus it seems widely known now that they’re reincarnating Liam Neeson’s character (Ras Al Ghul) into this movie as Josh Pence and the only way they could do that is involving the lazarus pit in some way.

      • JamieSon

reincarnating ! you know josh pence plays a young ra’s al ghul right not a reincarnated ra’s al ghul. I really doubt Nolan would take such a supernatural approach.

      • Anonymous

Reincarnation? Give me a break. Do you think after going ou o his way to establish realm, Nolan would now introduce a supernatural element? I seriously doubt it. More likely is that someone is having a flashback to when Ras was younger. Since we know there’s a younger actress who looks like Marion Cotillard, it’s likely that she’ll be the one thinking back to when Ras was younger, which further cements the idea that Miranda Tate is really Talia. If the Lazarus Pit does make it into the movie, I suspect Nolan will downplay its supernatural properties in order to make it more plausible.

    • JamieSon

I dont know if this takes place in a prison it’s really hard to distinguish where it is held. To me it looks like a cavern and bane and batman are backing back across a bridge. But probably not it’s so dark i cannot tell. (The mask that Bane has is a prison mask because he has bit off a few noses from guards in prison) where did you come across this information ?

  • Sugar Noel

HAHAH You all make me laugh with your theories and interpretations. Think about this my fellows: Nolan, that guy who directed BB, TDK and Inception, is a genious. A true genious. I mean… read your words… “is gonna happen this, is gonna happen that..” , “bane will do this, will do that” , “the pit”, “batman will be broken by Bane, and lead the LOS”..  thousands of logical and obvious ways to go for a plot. ¿Do you all really think that Nolan would make a SOOO predicatble movie like that? Nolan is gonna left you all in shock, the plot is gonna be nothing you are expecting

by te way…. Nolan is definitely not using supernatural stuff, take it for sure
in fact i bet he’s gonna take the realism far beyond than we’re expecting, i bet he’s gonna kill bruce and maked him “a legend”

    • JamieSon

Kill off Batman…hmm I dont think so, I dont think anyone would ever kill off batman in a story. I believe you are also throwing out theories. I very much doubt batman will die. Maybe be a in a wheelchair but that would be as far as it goes. With a story with Bane as a villain it is also likely that bane will break batman. Nolan likes certain aspects and events from certain stories told in the comics and the fact that bane is one of the only villians who physically could break batman I’d say its a possibility we could see it happen !

    • David

You know,I agree with your whole comment except for your last sentence.

    • Thesilverstcloud

Ive always thought killing him was a possibility. Nolan said a “Definitive End” so lets all hope that we are left applauding (Sure we will be)

Yeah, lucha libre is wrestling, Mexican wrestling.

  • Geoff_484

    This is what I think

I think Batman being on the run and Bane’s origins are going to be the focus of the first part of the movie. I think JGL is going to be what was announced, a cop that gets closer and closer to getting Batman. I think Bruce eventually gives up on being batman to avoid being caught, maybe even goes on a leave, and this is where Bane’s storyline intertwines with GCPDs. Something happens where he puts Gordon in the hospital and possibly even kills JGL, Bruce hears about it and comes back to see how Gordon is doing in the hospital and Gordon basically says “Hey, this new maniac is nothing like we’ve encountered before, we need you back!”

And I think Bruce visits Gordon in full batman gear, I personally don’t understand why people assumes he’s either maskless or in a ski mask, maybe he’s just simply talking about himself in the third person?

For the second part I think Batman encounters Catwoman and confronts Bane for the first time, I think Bane puts Batman down which brings me to the third act.

Selena somehow finds out Batman’s identity and helps him recover and they team up on Bane.

I highly doubt that’s how it will all work, but those are just some random ideas.

Also, it might be kind of a dumb idea, but I was thinking given Catwoman’s known skills, maybe she was also trained by the league of shadows and maybe Selena is used to be someone to get close and personal to Bruce. I mean, the league KNOWS who Batman is, what if all of our assumptions of Bane being affiliated with league and Selena being solo is backwards? We all know Bane becomes a bad ass because he was raised in prison, we can assume that’s his origins in his bad assery, but what about Selena’s? I just don’t see Nolan making Selena some random burglar in a fancy outfit, I think her story is going to be developed in this as well.

    • PMer

“I personally don’t understand why people assumes he’s either maskless or
in a ski mask, maybe he’s just simply talking about himself in the
      third person”

Don’t we see a non-gloved hand in the teaser?

      • Geoff_484

My bad, I didn’t notice that before you mentioned it :-S

  • JamieSon

I have been trying to find fairly hi res images of the screenshots taken from the teaser.
Has anyone got any screens of 1:32 bane vs batman from the 1080p or 720p trailer with the brightness pumped up that they are willing to upload. I and others would be very appreciative !
I really anxiously want to see that location clearly.

    • Vander

http://www.comicbookmovie.com One of the posts there has hi-res stills from the teaser along with animated GIFs of the last few seconds between Batman and Bane.

      • JamieSon

Thanks for the post vander much appreciated !

  • FootballteamMetropolis

i think after bane brokes batman’s back he will have the evidence that bruce wayne is batman. Because bruce wayne would appear in a wheelchair…thats why bruce escapes to lazarus pit to recover. meanwhile catwoman and bane will rule gotham. and i think bane will become a facist who wants to make justice in his own ideaology

  • FootballteamMetropolis

catwoman will be the insurance for Ras plan for gotham. Ras expects that Bane will fullfill Ras dreams, but Bane lost his mind/ way and catwoman has to stop him, but she is too weak against two opponents- marion as thalia and hardy as bane, then she blackmail JGL to know, who batman really is. thats all

  • Jasonkiran

I think when Gordon is in the hospital, He is talking to Bruce wearing a Balaclava, who has sneaked into the hospital ( see earlier spy shots of filming with a masked man hanging out a hospital window.) which fits in with the shooting timeline, as they have only been shooting for a number of weeks.
Also last scene with bane approaching batman and a gunman in the far distance, batman is all wet like he has fallen into some type of trap (possibly sewer) and Bane and his henchman have surrounded him which would explain the fear in his face after seeing Bane possibly for the 1st time and cant escape!

  • Tim Vandijk

I think he wears the ski mask because batman is being hunted down by the cops and Gorden is being guarded by the cops so the only way to come in is as Bruce but diguise later as like in batman begins.
    Anyway can’t wait.
    I will simply BREAK YOU

  • Isaac

i think that the guy behind batman at the end is the riddler, nolans planning something suprising and epic me thinks. Also i think that the character given to Joseph G Levitt is not the official character he will be playing. I think he might play the joker, hes a great actor and he looks like Heath Ledger. Michael Cain did say that the plot is “extraordinary”.

    • Isaac

i also think Ras al Guhl will make a return and he and Catwoman will create chaos in Gotham along side Riddler and Joker but will be stopped by Batman and Bane (Bane isnt all that bad, he is just looking for a worthy aponant and from the looks of things he will beat Batman leaving the rest of criminals for Bane to prove himself against).

    • Anonymous

Oh please. Enough with the Joker speculation. He’s not going to be in the movie. To recast him would be disprespectful to Heath Ledger and I doubt any actor would want to try to take his place.

    • Thesilverstcloud

i think JGL as Joker would’ve warranted an announcement– why go through the trouble to say he’s a cop if he’s taking up the Joker mantle?

  • Loozers22

I think Batman will be on the mend, Bane will destroy Gotham, all will be helpless, then Batman comes into the scene all refreshed from the Lazarus Pit and says, “I’m John Wayne at the first Thanksgiving, pilgrims. Happy Thanksgiving, pilgrims.” Then BAM! He takes Bane out…in front of the Riddler. And the CGI Joker is laughing in his prison cell.

  • Guanoman

I think Bruce just needed a weekend in the Bahama’s and that’s what happened man. Bruce is probably like “Ugh, hmm, okay. Gordon, I left for a weekend and this is what I come back to? Grow a pair, man!”

Also, @batmannews:twitter whatever happened to TDKR filminh in Romania? Yes, this is a bit late to ask.

    • Loozers22

And then he sees Bane beating up people on a street corner, throws an apple at his head and coolly says, “How do you like those apples, tough guy?”

  • Remco

Did anyone else notice that Liam Neeson’s text isn’t the same as it is spoken in ”Batman Begins”? Here Liam Neeson appears to speak much slower/lower, like it’s been recorded again. What’s up with that?

    • Antrozous

You people speculate about every tiny little thing don´t you? It is called SOUND EDITING for God´s sake, they can adapt the sound to a much quicker or slow rythm, remove a specific word or entire line etc…

And what are you talking about the text isn´t the same? It´s slightly reworked but not re-recorded.

Who is the one who climbs up the pit? And that silhouette behind Batman when he’s fighting against Bane?

  • Gotham45

Remember this, Nolan will keep something open to use the story in a far future.
He will not use a Lazarus Pitt, cant believe there are people who will think that, the mask Bane has on is because he bitt off 2 noses from a few gards. Batman his back will not break but…Gordon will. Batman has stopped, but after Gordon, he starts training again, in the teaser you see his first encounter with Bane.

go to; http://www.thegothamtimes.com , issue2, page 2, then read the last letter in the box; Letters to the editor…what is his name?
He will use him, to keep the story open.

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

Nolan said this is the last– I wouldnt be surprised if he completely cut off all future plots. Nolan knows when enough is enough– he won’t leave this open enough for a 4th in case WB gives the series to someone who would butcher Nolan’s baby. Trust me– the end will be the end.

anyone thought that Bruce Wayne might be sitting in front of a Gordon in a wheelchair with a broken back? Look at Bruce’s hand – it lies very steadily on what might be chair’s arms. Is there any armchairs in a hospital’s ward in US? I don’t know, I’m from Russia and here they don’t put those in a ward because it occupies a big space. So is there a possibility that Bane breaks Batman’s back and in order to stop Evil Bruce has to find someone who can replace him? It could think only of one person. Young and ambitious =)))

    • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

that would be such a Nolan move… they DO allow wheelchairs in our hospitals, in fact they insist upon them for certain injuries.

  • Moscow/RF DK Fan

Don’t You think it might be Bane talking to Gordon? I understand, it’s a disputable issue, but it’s possible, because the next frame after Gordon says “He must, he must” is Bane!
Sentence “…and than You’re gone”, probably, breaks my theory, but who knows…

    • BaneLuchaLibre

For your information, it’s the voice of Christian Bale talking to Gordon :) it’s very recognizeable.

      • Lusa

for your information, the sound in the trailer could be edited to sound like a sequence while is not

        • BaneLuchaLibre

For your information, why would Bane talk to Gordon in the first place?

          • everybody_likes_pizza

            For your information, I lol’d.

  • BaneLuchaLibre

My cousin works for Warner Brothers and he said that towards the end of the Dark Knight Rises there will be a Batman and Catwoman vs Bane fight sequence, Batman get’s his back broken, Catwoman get’s fucked up and Robin Williams comes into the scene dressed up as Mrs. Doubtfire to have a hand to hand combat fight vs Bane, thus beating Bane and tossing him into a pit of acid and venom. Mrs. Doubtfire wins, fatality.

  • Cesarmalaga

I’D DARE TO SAY THAT BRUCE IS ON A WHEELCHAIR TALKING TO GORDON THANKS TO BANE’S ATTACK, AND THEN THE BATMAN WILL HAVE TO RECOVER FROM ITS INJURIES, THAT WOULD EXPLAIN THE TITLE OF THE MOVIE, ANYWAY IT’S JUST A WILD GUEST.

    • Gaeloo

people dared to say it before you. look at the comments

      • batman4ever

Of course that Bane will kick Batman’s ass, that’s for sure, that’s one of the reasons that Nolan introduced him for the 3rd installement… To have someone capable of taking Batman one-on-one. But break his back or even kill him… Too damn obvious… I do not expect that from MASTER Nolan…

        It’s something else… Catwoman will have a word in all this… :)

But for sure we will finally see Batman hesitate, feeling physically threatened … Something new on the character :).

        • batman4ever

Also, the guy in white that we can see far away above Batman? Of course it is… Dr. Hugo Strange! :) He’s acting like a “referee” and enjoying every beating that Bane is inflicting on Batman… That’s my bet: Dr. Hugo Strange :).

          • batman4ever

Could also be just a prisoner in Arkham, watching the fight…

          • Thesilverstcloud

Hugo was on my short-list of potential baddies, I wont discount him.

    • everybody_likes_pizza

I think it’s Bruce, in a ski mask. With a perfectly fine back. He’s there in part because it will be even easier to sneak away on Gordon, and he misses the thrill.

I really love nolans films so far and cant wait for his next batman flix, i was thinking of differene choices he could do after batman 3 , a metal gear solid movie w/christian bale playing solid snake or an older snake played by gary oldman would be good, maybe james bond 24 with daniel graig back as bond maybe tom hardy and gary oldman or christian bale as the villians or maybe somewhat Revamp the terminator series with james carmeron as one of the producer and have goyer & jon nolan on the script, I know new line bought the rights for Gears of war  to turn into a movie would be awesome if nolan got into that series. so what do u guys or girls think would by a good choices

    • JamieSon

great find ! I agree how has this not been posted here !

  • batman4ever

Bruce Wayne/Batman is going to prison (Arkham?). In the trailer he’s exercising behind bars, it’s obvious. So he get’s caught (or he lets to be caught) and put behind bars for the murder of Harvey Dent, the White Knight. There must be some link with the second movie, I don’t believe that this 3rd installement will ignore the second one and only be linked with Begins.

Somehow Comissioner Gordon and his forces start to fight this new menace by themselves and get easily kicked… That’s where Bruce enters and somehow have a way to escape/return to Arkham (or maybe it’s captivity in Arkham is just to force people to believe what they are supposed to believe – that he’s arrested for the murder of Harvey – and he’s not truly in jail) and visits Gordon with a mask, where he cannot be recognized as Bruce Wayne or Batman (but for Gordon, it’s Batman who’s talking to him, in the 3rd person, but without his costume, not to bring attention).

This is my perspective so far. Also, “every journey has an end” doesn’t mean that end is “killed” or “paraplegic”. It’s too obvious, it’s not Nolan’s way. He will surprise everyone, including me :). I do hope he does not kill Batman or make him paraplegic… Only ass kicked, but nothing more than that. Batman should always prevail.

    • JamieSon

This is the hardest plot to try and work out it really can’t be done. However while I watched the teaser all the times I have, I  have noticed  Bruce doing pushups behinds the bars but lol i never even thought about prison. It looks like prison and a cell but the interior and walls all look old. To me it looks like an old prison if so it may be possible that the prison is Blackgate Penitentiary
which is condemned and forced to shut down later re-opening. Why Bruce is there (if there) could be related to what batman4forever has mentioned or an entirely different purpose.
http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Blackgate_Penitentiary. If you google imagery of Blackgate the images look similiar to what you see if you pause at 0:58 – 0:59 and also again at the end of the teaser the Bane and Batman confrontation. For those who may not know Blackgate is located on a secluded island in Gotham Bay.

  • TDKRFan

As an avid fan of the films but not so much of the comics, how closely do the first two Nolan interpretations follow the comics? Do they well? And this is why we all speculate that TDKR will do the same?

    • Anonymous

Good question , this is the key to Nolans , Batman success , he takes the source material ,and applys his great story telling and design talents .

Batman Begins = Batman Year One

The Dark Knight = The Long Halloween

The Dark Knight Rises = The Dark Knight Returns

Hope this helps , i would highly reccomend getting into some Batman Graphic Novels , Batman Year One ,is a great place to start .

      • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ Willie

Hey man, I would put a little “Knightfall” on TDKR too, for obvious reasons right? And I would love to see some elements from Dave McKean’s “Arkhan Asylum” in the middle of these!

Also some “What Ever Happened to the Caped Crusader?”

      • Anonymous

Actually I think it could very well be Bruce. First, we know that Christian Bale was in India to film a scene and that what looks like a pit was there. So it’s not a stretch to think it’s Bale climbing up the pit. Second, the figure just doesn’t look big enough to be Bane, but it could be Bale. The part I found least plausible was how they described the scene with Bane and Batman. If they were going to include a scene of them in the teaser, why pick such an important one that could potentially give away the ending?

        • redXphantom

Good point. I think the Bane vs. Batman sceen could be an early fight sceen than a climactic one

    • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ Willie

I smell bullshit coming from there, man… seems like some fanboy masturbation delirium to me.

      • Anonymous

A fanboy would mention the breaking of the bat since so many fans are anxious to see that. Makes you wonder if they get off on seeing their heroes beaten to a pulp.

  • Anonymous

I think Liam Neeson will play Ra’s al Ghul in his last moments, which we didn’t see in Batman Begins, or maybe a dead Ra’s, and Josh Pence is the new one, the one who climbs out of the pit (just as I think we can see in teh trailer, and who would also be that mysterious figure we find behind Batman in the trailer)…

  • Josue Correa

“I think it’s a villain from one of the old, old, from way back from the old comics. It is a Batman villian…It’s not going to be the Joker. If I told you who the villain was, they’d kill me.” This is quoted by Gary Oldman. Realize that Anthony Michael Hall who is the GCN newscaster was in a viral video before the poster for Dark Knight Rises appeared as well as the teaser trailer. Now I hear he signed for a “secret” role in this movie, so secretive in fact he can’t say. From what I read Anthony Michael Hall also appears in The Dark Knight as a hostage for a split second, before  batman takes on Jokers clowns. — I am willing to bet his secret role and villain old old villain from back when ABC had batman is the RIDDLER — he even looks the part.

    • http://grauskala.blogspot.com/ Willie

Dude, that’s a plenty of villains of the old… don’t forget that israeli actor… I think he’ll play dr Darkk… or maybe dr Death, or even Hugo… who knows!

  • xbox305

You know how the Riddler likes to pull strings, why not do it through the media – aka Mike Engel. After all if politicians like Harvey Dent can become corrupt why can’t newscasters?

  • Isaac

the guy in the back at the last part has his hands tied around his neck and if u look at the light above him u can see a rope coming down to his neck. he is a hostage, maybe Gary Oldman or JGL.

  • Bazman05

If that is Bruce Wayne talking to Gordon in the Hospital, is anyone not bothered about the way he’s talking to him, as if he knows he’s Batman? I know it’s all speculation at this point but I’m not liking the idea at this point.

    • redXphantom

Bruce is probably wearing a ski mask like in BB, it’s possible he hasn’t been batman for some time and that’s the only way he can see jim without revieling his identity. if he vsits gordon as bruce wayne then gordon will know.

      • Bazman05

What I was really was wondering was Nolan going to have Bruce Wayne revealing his identity to Gordon in this film. But what you had mentioned is what I was thinking and hoping for from the trailer.

  • Bradley Eversley

I predicted the end of The Dark Knight Rises. Commissioner Gordon will have his glasses broken by some criminal, At the last scene, Batman gives in his moral and will take off his mask, but Gordon symbolically states, “Sorry, I’m blind as a bat”.

    • Loozers22

It’s perfect. To close out, Batman and and Gordon laugh heartily, then run at each other, jump in the air, stretch their arms up high then SLAP! Freeze frame on hands hi-fiving. Cool song by Journey begins.

      • Bradley Eversley

HAHA then the credits roll out as the freeze-frame turns into a comic and the batman theme song drowns the crowd

AAaah man ! It chilles me to the bone when you see Batman and Bane fight(offscreen) .. Batman is tired, U can see it in his eyes than he knows Bane is a much stronger then him and then Bane comes walking in to the screen, so determined! Epic, he’s definitely gonna break the bat afterwards

    • batman4ever

Bane is NOT gonna break Batman’s back. It’s too obvious, it’s not Nolan way…

      • David

I’m not 100 % sure about that. But you know what’s even more funny than this theory? That there are people saying Batman will die at the end of this film!Or some of them with a little more compassion say he’ll be confined to a wheelchair for life! It’s like they believe Batman has been created by Nolan and he can kill him because he belongs to him and this will make an epic movie!(no disrespect,Chris. You have truly improved Batman better than anyone could ever improve a comic book hero)

        • http://twitter.com/MsSilverStCloud Silver St Cloud

I mean— Batman dies in the books now and then; I trust Nolan to give us what we’ve never seen before– what better way than to permanently break the Bat? I’m not convinced that Nolan won’t leave him paralyzed. Or Dead. I like thinking that Nolan could do absolutely anything.

Well see I signed up to be an extra for the Dark Knight Rises football stadium scene — since I live in Pittsburgh – and I decided to look for some viral sites relating to the Gotham Rogues or Rapid City Monuments. Well I decided to then type in The-Gotham-Rogues.com and walla I get the colors that were said to be the “Yellow and Black” which we have to wear to the stadium. But something I also found in the past day or so was GothamRogues.com which is officially registered to Warner Brothers but as of right now has no visible content. They are gearing up for this viral Dark Knight Rises campaign rather early. Batman-News should post what I found.

I think this: Chris Nolan is a director who is known for repeating actors, and the other things is he shows the end of each character, as he said that this film will be give definitive end, all the negaive characters will come to end who have been introduced so far
Liam Neeson died in batman begins, cillian murphy was caughtin batman begins and murpy’s character was not that strong or intelligent that he could run from prison, so he ends there.
While filming tdk, chris would have definitely thought of continuing joker and heath ledger i feel, and joker is still alive, he could run from prison anytime, and thats why i feel joker will be there in this movie, may be in short role, but i think he will be there

It was WB’s fault, They wanted a movie that could sell toys and the made Joal make that film.
had they let him make “his” movie it would have been closer to Batman’89

Dude I think Joel and everyone(WB)who helped make that movie is to blame. But i respect your opinion as a person. He’s the ringleader though Lmao I’m just glad that Christopher Nolan has put a stop to it,that is untill WB ruins Batman again in 2013 movie The Justice League. There all a bunch of schemers trying to control there little world.

That’s a fan trailer. Robin Williams is not in this movie.

This movie is going to be a Juggernaut of a massive blockbuster smash hit.  Chris Nolan intelligently using the concepts developed for Inception, totally unbelievable and the music in this trailer is spectacular and breathtaking.

I don’t know if anyone else has already said this, but the guy behind Batman in the last scene is almost definitely Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I found a still image of the scene, zoomed in 400%, and saw that the figure is wearing a Gotham Police jacket, is holding a gun in a firing stance, and has black hair. I think he has his gun aimed on Bane while Batman is fighting. Just an observation.

This is a great opportunity for Pgh!
Although Standing around in winter coats in 80 degree weather is far fetched as an unpaid extra.
Keep bringing film to Pittsburgh! We love it!
