I noticed banes scar in the first official photo aswell, then again in the fight scene photos with Gotham PD & Batman Vs Bane & the Blackgate prisoners, what if Nolan completely changes the Knightfall storyline and Batman breaks Banes back? It’s a really long shot, but that’s makes my skin tingle thinking it. I know the hardcore comic fans would hate that, but I like it when Nolan fucks shit up!

  You know,that sounds weird but very interesting! Before I knew Bane was gonna be in the story,I understandably believed that the title of the movie means that people of Gotham will need Batman because a villain will emerge and that’s why Batman will actually RISE again.Now,don’t deny the fact that Batman became an outcast and chased by the police at the end of The Dark Knight.And he left his career.(Gordon in the teaser:”Then you were gone”)So why he be defeated by Bane to rise later while he has already fallen?How do you react to the fact that he has already fallen and is hated by the people of Gotham(He asked Gordon to tell people he had killed those people who Two-Face had killed.)

Interesting thoughts. I don’t know if Batman will break Banes back, but I do think that everyone is underestimating The Bat, people still need to remember he’s hard as fuck. In the fight scene in Pittsburgh when Bane and Batman are fighting I dont think its as one sided as people expected. To beat Batman I think Bane will use some clever tactics, like in the comics. And I really don’t think that Nolan will give Bane venom, would be daft. Although it would seem that in one of the fight scenes Batman is on the ropes, as we can tell from the 2 second clip at the end of the trailer, Bane looks up for it because he’s rocking the military vest and nothing else. Makes him aerodynamic when he fights! I like what they’re saying in the podcast about Bane totally breaking the Batman, but in a more metaphorical sense. By breaking out all of Gothams criminals and undoing Batman’s hard work, Bruce would understandably be mentally drained and reluctant in spirit.

Another great podcast, really strong start guys! Loving the theories. I am still hoping that instead of a Batwing we will see ‘Bat-Drones’, UAVs are the military toy, and if you can turn on a PC you could fly one ;-)

  Thanks Keith! I know what your talking about, those UAVs are cool. Batman uses something similar to drop him off a gadget in the Batman Arkham City game :). So I don’t see Nolan doing that..but who knows would be cool.

I mean… the joker is gonna be skipped just like that, not mentioned at all or what? That would be so unrealistic… I think they need to use an interesting way to pull him out of the plot trilogy

  Bane will refer to joker I recon, he’ll use him as an example of what he wants the people of gotham to think he’s not. At some point he’ll try and gain the trust of the people of Gotham perhaps? Or when he’s on the tumbler whoever he’s talking to then he’ll let the people know he’s not mental like the joker, just there to kill batman and create order again (lying of course)

As a fellow batfan, I really enjoyed your podcast sessions, and I absolutely can relate to your discussions and theories on TDKR and other Batman related news. The format and spontaneous chemistry you have, Matt and Grant, are excellent, and like everyone else here has said, congratulations on all your efforts; Being true to yourselves is what counts.;) Everyone here wishes he could be Batman (heck I’ve finally been able to live the dream and cosplay him recently, hehe) or in the TDKR movie, but what’s important is we’re all here and digging the character for who he is.
