I have an hypothesis regarding JGL character of "John Blake." As some people may know, John Blake appeared in the comics as a young kid who was always excited to show off his good report card to his father, however, the Joker would show up and steal it from him, thus preventing him from impressing his father academically.
There is a popular villain with a very similar backstory. As most of you may know, as a young student, Edward Nashton was involved in a school contest to see who could solve a puzzle in under a minute. Like John Blake, he wanted to impress his father. He cheated of course, and won, recieving a book of riddles as his prize. While playing the video game "Batman: Arkham Asylum, there is an audio recording from this villain discussing this same event. Except he adds that his father did not believe that he could have won so easily without cheating and abuses him for it.
I believe Christopher Nolan is combining 2 characters to form one with a solid backstory: John Blake is the Riddler (imo). This wouldn't be the first time Nolan has done this (Henri Ducard/Ras Al Ghul).

Looks to me like John Blake is doing something helpful. In the second shot, you see him emptying his coffee and without being noticed walk across the street with a canister of gasoline probably about to burn down a building. I'd say he's on the "good" side trying to stop Bane and his thugs controlling the city. Maybe he's trying to get Gordon out.
