Batwing involved in accident on set of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Another accident occurred on set of The Dark Knight Rises today, but this one wasn’t quite as minor. The Batwing was speeding down a street in Pittsburgh, but got a little too close to a street lamp. Part of the left side was destroyed, but somehow the crew was able to fix it in an hour and get back to work. Luckily no one was hurt, as the Batman we’ve been seeing in the cockpit is just a dummy. Other accidents during production of The Dark Knight Rises include an equipment truck smashing into the entrance of Wollaton Hall, a stuntman crashing into the roof of a home in Scotland, and Catwoman driving the Batpod into an IMAX camera. Check out more photos from today’s shoot after the break.

All I know is that this is going to be one of the most epic chase scenes ever when it arrives finished in theatres…

  • Antrozous

That was not all that bad only an upper plate jumped off, look at the pics and you will see themais structure was not affected. A couple of welders and it´s all back in place, it doesn´t need to be funcional it´s simply a prop…

Oh btw, that photo of the Tumbler and the Batwing is sheer awesomeness! Just look at it, how could that beast come out of the Tumbler? Never. In fact I believe the Tumbler days are over for Batman, we will start with the Batpod and rising up in his new toy…

    • Bryanbreguet

i agree with the sheer awesomeness of the picture! You look at it and think: this is gonna be epic!

Like I said earlier inthe prior disscusion about the Batwing Comfermation.
BATMAN 3:16 says I CANT FLY THIS SUM BITCH!
Its ironic, I didn’t actually think it would crash.

    • BulgarianBalehead

Batman 3:16 says he’ll set Bane’s ass on fire with that sumbitch! LOL!

Well, you have to admire the crew’s efforts in this case, they repaired that thing very fast indeed.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ANJ4PYSPNHYVHBWHPVT3O72RZE Darrell

Yes they did. I can’t wait see how it looks on screen. It’s clear however that Batman was clearly intoxicated while flying it.

“Hey, WB! Gimme another dollar for me to buy more candy!” – C.Nolan

  • Bbuzzel

Im sorry I dont mean to be negative, but I dont like the batwing, it just isnt growing on me. I dont see why Nolan has to make all the vehicles in the same family. I mean the batwing doesnt have to have a tumbler look to it, it could be an awesome slim vehicle, but all it looks like is just a big hunk of metals.

    • Antrozous

You have to look at it from a prodution design perspective, it´s like a signature for Nathan Crowley´s art, every design team does it, Batmobile 89 has the same genes of the Batwing 89, Batmobile from Batman Forever has the same genes of the movie´s Batwing.

If you don´t like it then fine, you have the right to dislike it just don´t try to use arguments to say it´s wrong as it is because it isn´t.

    • fearitself

he is trying to keep it grounded in reality as much as he can not some flying saucer crap or some star wars jet lol

  • Drew_Hopkins

This is why we can’t have nice things.
