‘The Dark Knight Rises’ crew visits children’s hospital, shares movie secrets

The Dark Knight Rises crew members visited the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh recently, to share some “movie magic” with the kids. Chris Corbould (Special Effects Supervisor) and Mychael Bates (Property Master) showed the children action scenes from Inception, James Bond, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight. Corbould explained the special effects that went into making it all appear real. Bates talked about all the little details that go into The Dark Knight Rises props to help make Pittsburgh look and feel like Gotham City. It’s great that Corbould and Bates were able to take time out of their busy schedule to visit the children. Check out the WTAE video report on their visit at the source link below.

    Hopefully they didn’t show the kids the scene in The Dark Knight where the Joker blows up the hospital, would’ve been a tad insensitive. But otherwise, great article!
