Josh Brolin confirms ‘Batman vs. Superman’ rumors, was he Zack Snyder’s first choice?

Josh Brolin

Well this is interesting! About three weeks before Ben Affleck was announced as the new Batman, there was a rumor that Josh Brolin was the current favorite for the part. In a new interview with The Huffington Post, Brolin confirmed it — he was in talks to play Batman in Batman vs. Superman. Here’s the quote Brolin gave The Huffington Post, when asked if he talked to director Zack Snyder about Batman:

We did. I didn’t have conversations about it, but Zack, that was part of his idea. It just didn’t turn out. It’s OK. It is OK. You know, another scenario might have worked better, but I’m happy for Ben.

It sounds to me like Josh Brolin was Zack Snyder’s first choice for the role, but for whatever reason they couldn’t get a deal done. Is that how you interpreted his reply? Let me know in the comments below!
