Update: The Rock has responded to today’s Green Lantern rumor. Too bad he saw it on IGN and not Batman News!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s name keeps coming up when you talk about Batman vs. Superman. It all started last November when he tweeted a picture of himself and the Warner Bros. CEO with the caption “we’ll do some big cool things!”. Then late last year, The Rock confirmed that he’ll partner up with Warner Bros./DC Comics in 2014. Batman vs. Superman is the only Warner Bros./DC Comics project that’s scheduled to shoot this year, but did The Rock reveal his role nearly three months ago as well?
The Rock posted that photo with his trainer on Instagram on November 16th, 2013… just a few weeks after his big meeting with Warner Bros. He wrote a caption praising his trainer, and ended it with “#JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss”.
For those who are hashtag illiterate, that translates to “John Stewart can still whup Superman’s ass”. As you probably know, John Stewart is the alter ego of Green Lantern. With The Rock already confirming that he’s going to be working on a Warner Bros./DC Comics project, and now discovering this three month old Instagram post… I’d be shocked if The Rock is playing anyone other than Green Lantern. Rumors suggest that every major Justice League member will be getting a small cameo in Batman vs. Superman… leading up to a full-blown Justice League movie in 2017.
What do you guys think? Are all of these clues enough to confirm that The Rock is going to be Green Lantern? Let me know what you think in the comments below!
