Viola Davis is Amanda Waller in ‘Suicide Squad’, reports Latino Review

How to Get Away with Murder

When Warner Bros. announced the cast of Suicide Squad earlier this month there was still one important role to fill. According to Latino Review, Viola Davis has been cast as Amanda Waller, a former congressional aide and government agent often placed in charge of the Suicide Squad, a semi-secret government-run group of former supervillains working in return for amnesty.

A recent report said that Warner Bros.’ first choice for the role was Oprah Winfrey, but Viola Davis was on their short list as well. Davis currently stars on the hit new ABC show How To Get Away With Murder. Are you happy with this casting? Let me know in the comments below.

PS. For those wondering, it turns out the rumor from October about a Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser trailer was false. It did not play in front of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which opened today in the US.
