Batman and Bane battle in new ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ promo art

More and more promotional material is being revealed as we get closer to the July 20th release date of The Dark Knight Rises. Today I came across some awesome promo art that features Batman and Bane fighting in the snow in the streets of Gotham. We also get a cool look at Batman with his new air vehicle, the Bat, and the Batpod. Check them out in the gallery.

Update: Turns out the picture of Batman on the Batpod is from The Dark Knight, but I’ll leave it up since it’s still cool.

Christopher Nolan reveals new ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ footage at CinemaCon 2012

Christopher Nolan attended CinemaCon 2012 this afternoon, and showed off 5 minutes of new footage from The Dark Knight Rises during Warner Bros.’ presentation. Reactions are showing up online, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive! Bane’s voice is now much clearer, there’s tons of action, and the footage showed off some interaction between Batman and Catwoman. IGN, and EW have great articles summarizing everything they saw, check them out at the source links below (I’ll be adding more as they’re published). I’ve also included a video blog from Collider, /Film, and First Showing, along with some reactions from Twitter after the break. And don’t forget, we’ll all be seeing some new footage from The Dark Knight Rises in less than two weeks, when trailer #3 is released online!

Michelle Pfeiffer on Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Michelle Pfeiffer’s performance as Catwoman in 1992′s Batman Returns was one of the most memorable from the original four movies. In fact, even Anne Hathaway thought she was up for Harley Quinn in The Dark Knight Rises, because Pfeiffer’s Catwoman was so iconic. Empire Magazine recently chatted with Pfeiffer and got her thoughts on Anne Hathaway stepping into the role that she perfected 20 years ago:

“Oh, I think she’s great. I’m actually very much looking forward to seeing her in the role. I’m a big fan of hers and I think she has everything you need for that role. She has the humor, she can go to dark places, she’s obviously very talented. I think she’s going to be really good.” And would she have played Catwoman for Christopher Nolan if given the chance? “Oh sure. I definitely would have done it.”

Head on over to Comic Book Movie for the rest of the interview, where Pfeiffer talks about working with Tim Burton on Batman Returns. What did you think of Pfeiffer as Catwoman? Let me know in the comments.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ to feature more than 60 minutes of IMAX footage

The Dark Knight made history by becoming the first feature film to be shot in IMAX, and Christopher Nolan is taking The Dark Knight Rises to the next level. The Dark Knight had about 40 minutes of IMAX footage, and according to The Wall Street Journal, The Dark Knight Rises will have more than one hour. The Dark Knight Rises is the only summer blockbuster that was actually shot with IMAX cameras. Movies such as The Amazing Spider-Man and Men in Black III will be post-converted to the large format. Be sure to click on the source link below for the full article, which includes a few quotes from Christopher Nolan. Will you be seeing The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX? Let me know in the comments!

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ trailer #3 is complete, coming soon to a theater near you

One of the most frequent questions I get via email, Twitter, and Facebook is “when’s The Dark Knight Rises trailer #3 coming out?”. My reply has always been “sometime in May”, judging by the timeline The Dark Knight was on. Well now May is almost here, and we have confirmation that trailer #3 is indeed coming. In fact, it’s already been put together!

The news comes from Claudio Serrano, the Spanish actor in charge of dubbing Christian Bale’s voice in The Dark Knight Rises trailer #3. Serrano tweeted about the job last night, and again today after stepping out of the recording booth. Serrano’s tweets are in Spanish, but his comment from today translates to “I can only say that the TDKR trailer 3 is … WOW!!”

Before today’s news, the internet was buzzing over which movie might have trailer #3 attached to it. It seems we have two logical choices… The Avengers, which hits theaters on May 4th, or Dark Shadows which is due out May 11th. Either way, I think it’s safe to assume we’re getting The Dark Knight Rises trailer #3 within the next 3 weeks. Stay tuned to Batman-News.com, I’ll have the trailer posted in HD the minute it hits the internet!

PS. Don’t forget that Warner Bros. is attending CinemaCon next week. They’re scheduled to bring something from The Dark Knight Rises, could it be trailer #3?
