Warner Bros. UK has released a new The Dark Knight Rises interview with Michael Caine on their YouTube channel. Caine talks about the backstory he gave Alfred in the Dark Knight trilogy, and his relationship with Christopher Nolan. We’ve heard Caine talk about the backstory he gave Alfred before, but he goes into more detail this time. Check it out!

Last Friday members of the press got to see The Dark Knight Rises and the opportunity to interview director Christopher Nolan and the cast (minus Tom Hardy, who is currently working on a new movie). Film critic Jake Hamilton asked some really great questions, and combined all his interviews into one massive 21 minute video. Hamilton assured me that his interviews are spoiler-free, but you should always proceed with a little bit of caution this late in the game.

Collider caught up with Gary Oldman at his 3-day, 7-film retrospective at New York’s Landmark Sunshine Cinema. During the Q&A portion, Oldman talked about The Dark Knight Rises, and described one of his favorite scenes. Don’t worry, he doesn’t give away any major details.

He gave up details on a key scene in The Dark Knight Rises: “There’s an emotional scene coming up in the next Batman, which I am obviously, absolutely sworn to secrecy about… They would kill me.  Well, I’d do the press junket and then they’d kill me.”  He said, “Watching Michael Caine work, as Alfred, was a great lesson for me.  Just focus, concentration.  He has this emotional scene.  I’m kidding you not.  It was tears and the whole thing.  And it’s ‘Take 1.’  (Oldman snaps his fingers) He got it.  ‘Take 2′ (snaps his fingers again), Got it.  Take 3 (snaps his fingers) Got it.  He’s just on the money.  Every single time.

Could this be the scene from The Dark Knight Rises that we saw in trailer #2? “You are as precious to me as you were to your own mother and father. I swore to them that I would protect you…and I haven’t.” It seems like that will definitely be an emotional scene between Alfred and Bruce. The Daily Mirror caught up with Sir Michael Caine recently and asked about The Dark Knight Rises. Caine, who has been scolded in the past for saying too much, was tight lipped and talked about the secrecy around the Christopher Nolan project.

[Caine] reckons it’s the best Batman yet – although he can’t reveal any of the ­details. “On Batman you get shot if you speak about it,” he says. “When you do one of the films it’s like signing the Official Secrets Act.

“The director Chris Nolan is the most secretive guy. The first time he came to me for Batman he came to my house in the country on a Sunday morning.

“I opened the door and he was standing there with a script. He said, ‘do you want to play the Butler?’ He stayed while I read it and took the script away. He wouldn’t trust me with it! But this one will ­definitely be the best ever.”

Caine talked about how much he loves working with Christopher Nolan, and the secrecy around his projects. Caine said that The Dark Knight Rises’ plot is “extraordinary” and he can see why Nolan wants to keep it a secret.
