Gameloft released a The Dark Knight Rises mobile game for iOS and Android last month and now several of the artists who worked on the game have unveiled some really cool concept art. Alex Negrea drew up some really cool storyboards for the game, while artists Uri So and Shenggang Dong shared their renders of Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly features Batman and Bane on the cover, as well as some new interviews with Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale. Here’s a preview from EW.com:

Christopher Nolan is throwing down the gauntlet. “We want this to be the most exciting film, the most emotionally engaging and enjoyable blockbuster that an audience can see this summer,” says the director of The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final chapter in the Inception helmer’s trilogy of Batman movies starring Christian Bale. In advance of the film’s release on July 20, Nolan and Bale sat down with Entertainment Weekly for separate interviews to talk about the making of Rises and the remarkable success of their collaboration. The new issue of EW, on sale later this week, also features exclusive new photos from the film.

Last Friday members of the press got to see The Dark Knight Rises and the opportunity to interview director Christopher Nolan and the cast (minus Tom Hardy, who is currently working on a new movie). Film critic Jake Hamilton asked some really great questions, and combined all his interviews into one massive 21 minute video. Hamilton assured me that his interviews are spoiler-free, but you should always proceed with a little bit of caution this late in the game.

Geoff Boucher of Hero Complex just published an excellent article about The Dark Knight Rises. Boucher had the opportunity to visit the set last summer and got thoughts from Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan, and Morgan Freeman about The Dark Knight Rises being the final Batman movie in Nolan’s trilogy. Christian Bale’s response stood out out to me, here’s an except:

“I remember when I first read the script, of course it was all top secret,” Bale said during a break in the shoot. “I went round by Chris’ house, was shut in the room with the script — not allowed to leave with it — and it hit me that this was the last one. What Chris couldn’t believe was how slow I read because I go back and re-read until I have it all in my mind. I was in there six or seven hours. It was dark when I came out. And I was smiling.”

The Dark Knight Rises is still filming in Los Angeles, though it’s been a bit more quiet than the shoot in Pittsburgh. They recently wrapped up on the set in Torrance, California and Batman-News.com reader Phil sent in a great report:

Well, filming for Dark Knight Rises officially wrapped today, this was confirmed by Wally Pfister himself to a couple of firends of mine who met him earlier. All in all, it was a fantastic shoot, and although most of what was shot was hidden from our view ( thank goodness, I’m happy to say) the itty bitty bits that I was able to see have left no doubt in my mind that this film is going to be TREMENDOUS! Non-spoiler: what I will never forget is seeing Christian Bale in the Batsuit. He looks massive and intimidating ( as I’m sure you’re witnessed yourself) and I truly can’t wait for this film. Anyway, I have seen a few things that I wil lnto discuss ( as I would consider them spoilers) and I did snag some pic, but I am only going to include the non-spoilers ones.

Productions now moves downtown to do interiors shots on the 3rd and 4th at a building location before moving to the 6th street bridge location for exterior filming on the 8th through the 11th. Just a heads up, lots of spoilerish imagery may pop up from the 6th street shoot, so just a heads up. I have some inside info on what’s filming there and it may be hard for Team Nolan to completely hide what they are doing there).
