Gary Oldman was interviewed at the 2011 Empire Awards. Absolute Radio asked Oldman how Christopher Nolan is so good at keeping The Dark Knight Rises details secret. Oldman responded that there are many keys and locked doors in the production office. Actors are required to read the script in the office, and Nolan verbally tells them the ending. It’s not written down to avoid any leaks. Oldman also revealed that he has “quite a bit to do” with Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises. Check out the video interview and leave your thoughts in the comments.

E! News caught up with Michael Caine this past weekend, who was at New York’s annual Toy Fair promoting Cars 2. Of course he was asked about Christopher Nolan’s final Batman movie — here’s what Caine had to say about The Dark Knight Rises’ script.

I talked to Chris last week ’cause I said I hadn’t gotten a script and he said, “I haven’t finished it.” And he said, “I’ll finish it in two weeks”.

Caine also commented on the recent rumors surrounding Marion Cotillard, as well as the news about Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy officially joining the cast.

Marion Cotillard is in it? Nobody tells me these things, oh shoot. I didn’t know. Well, Anne Hathaway is Catwoman isn’t she? Well that’s fabulous. Tom Hardy is gonna be great too [as Batman nemesis Bane]. He’s a tough British actor.

In an interview last month, cinematographer Wally Pfister noted that he had read the script and Christopher Nolan is currently working on shortening it. Pfister described the script as “phenomenal”, though a bit long.

Late last week a 165 page script titled The Dark Knight Rises appeared online. I didn’t report on it because the script was clearly written by a dedicated fan. Poor grammar, a cluttered plot, and inclusion of The Riddler all pointed to this being fake. Recently, the script has made headlines on several large websites — just know anything you’ve read about script details is fan fiction. The only official script news is that Christopher Nolan handed in a draft last month and the cast should be getting it sometime this month.

Another story that’s been making the rounds today relate to the photos above of Tom Hardy. Hardy was photographed Sunday with what appears to be a beard and shaved head. This has lead to speculation that Hardy is already preparing for his role in The Dark Knight Rises, Hugo Strange perhaps? While it’s certainly possible, I wouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet. Tom Hardy is scheduled to film The Wettest County in the World before he shows up in Gotham City. I did a bit of digging and I’m not entirely sure if Hardy is completely bald under that hat. Photos of Hardy at a Lakers game last Friday are after the break. Does his hair look shorter in the photos above? Take a look and judge for yourself.

David Cohen of Variety just spoke to Christopher Nolan about The Dark Knight Rises script. As you can see from his tweet, Nolan has just a couple days left to put the finishing touches on it.

Since Warner Bros. will be receiving the script on Monday, is it possible they’ll send out a press release with the villain and plot summary before Christmas? Or will we have to wait until early next year? We’ll find out soon!

Michael Caine has been known to give away more details than he probably should in interviews about upcoming projects. Nothing major here, but Caine did talk a bit about The Dark Knight Rises in an exclusive interview with Empire. Here’s an excerpt from the article:

“Emma [Thomas], the producer, said we’d get the script in January. Christopher said: ‘Script in January, shoot in May, finish in November.’”

This filming schedule seems similar to that of The Dark Knight. I believe that film started shooting in April of 2007 and wrapped up around October or November. With the cast getting to see the script in January, I’d expect an official update from Warner Bros. very soon. They’ll probably want to announce the villains and plot to avoid any leaks once the script is in people’s hands. Hit up the source link for the full interview, and also an interview with Jonathan Nolan reflecting on The Dark Knight.

Update: Earlier this month I reported that filming would start in April in New Orleans. Warner Bros. was definitely looking at locations (specifically the Warehouse District) and hoped to shoot there because of the tax breaks. I was told that the deal would be finalized in February, but after Wally Pfister and now Caine’s comments, maybe a last minute decision was made to pull out of NOLA?
