Back in November Deadline released a shortlist of actresses rumored to be meeting with Christopher Nolan for lead roles in The Dark Knight Rises. Today it looks like we can scratch off one of the candidates. Natalie Portman’s reps revealed exclusively to People that she is engaged and pregnant. The other women on Deadline’s list were Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley. Update 12/31/10: In an interview this week for Entertainment Weekly, Portman was asked if she’ll appear in the The Dark Knight Rises. Her reply? “Oh, I don’t know anything about that.” Of course even if she did know something, should wouldn’t talk to the media about it. The fact that she’s pregnant pretty much takes her out of the running now anyways. The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to shoot from May to November in 2011.
