Michael Caine talks ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ script and cast

E! News caught up with Michael Caine this past weekend, who was at New York’s annual Toy Fair promoting Cars 2. Of course he was asked about Christopher Nolan’s final Batman movie — here’s what Caine had to say about The Dark Knight Rises’ script.

I talked to Chris last week ’cause I said I hadn’t gotten a script and he said, “I haven’t finished it.” And he said, “I’ll finish it in two weeks”.

Caine also commented on the recent rumors surrounding Marion Cotillard, as well as the news about Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy officially joining the cast.

Marion Cotillard is in it? Nobody tells me these things, oh shoot. I didn’t know. Well, Anne Hathaway is Catwoman isn’t she? Well that’s fabulous. Tom Hardy is gonna be great too [as Batman nemesis Bane]. He’s a tough British actor.

In an interview last month, cinematographer Wally Pfister noted that he had read the script and Christopher Nolan is currently working on shortening it. Pfister described the script as “phenomenal”, though a bit long.
