Harry Potter breaks The Dark Knight’s opening weekend record

In 2008, The Dark Knight made box office history, raking in $158 million in it’s first opening weekend. It held onto that record for three years, but today, there’s a new box office King. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 opened last Friday, and pulled in a record breaking $168 million this weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, 43% of that gross was due to 3D ticket prices, which are slightly more expensive. Still, critics and fans around the world seem to love the final Harry Potter movie, and its success is well deserved.

Batman fans got excited for Harry Potter when we learned that the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises was attached to it. I hear that the teaser trailer will be making it’s way online, officially, some time tomorrow. Stay tuned to Batman-News.com, I’ll have it up here as soon as it hits the web! Do you think The Dark Knight Rises will be able to dethrone Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 next summer? Let me know in the comments.
