Michelle Pfeiffer’s performance as Catwoman in 1992’s Batman Returns was one of the most memorable from the original four movies. In fact, even Anne Hathaway thought she was up for Harley Quinn in The Dark Knight Rises, because Pfeiffer’s Catwoman was so iconic. Empire Magazine recently chatted with Pfeiffer and got her thoughts on Anne Hathaway stepping into the role that she perfected 20 years ago:
“Oh, I think she’s great. I’m actually very much looking forward to seeing her in the role. I’m a big fan of hers and I think she has everything you need for that role. She has the humor, she can go to dark places, she’s obviously very talented. I think she’s going to be really good.” And would she have played Catwoman for Christopher Nolan if given the chance? “Oh sure. I definitely would have done it.”
Head on over to Comic Book Movie for the rest of the interview, where Pfeiffer talks about working with Tim Burton on Batman Returns. What did you think of Pfeiffer as Catwoman? Let me know in the comments.
