In July of 2008, The Dark Knight made box office history, raking in $158 million in its first opening weekend. It held onto that record for nearly three years, only to be dethroned by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 last summer. Now, there’s a new box office king… Marvel’s The Avengers opened this past weekend to a record smashing $200.3 million. The higher 3D ticket prices surely helped, but The Dark Knight Rises has IMAX on its side. The bar has been set very high, so I’ve got to ask…
