Upcoming Comics: August 15th, 2012

It’s the 3rd week of the month which means it’s time for all the bat-titles that don’t actually star Batman. It’s also going to be a pretty easy review week for me since I only cover Birds of Prey, Red Hood and The Outlaws, and Batwoman in trade format now.

This week, we get the conclusion to Nightwing’s Republic of Tomorrow storyline, Batwoman teams up with Wonder Woman, the Birds of Prey get poisoned, Jason Todd and friends go on an intergalactic adventure, and Catwoman puts an end to Dollhouse’s reign of terror.

Here’s a list of all the Batman comics coming out this week, August 15th, graded on a scale of my own anticipation.

None.  –   I’ll get to it…eventually   –   Eh…meh.  –  Bring it.  –  TAKE MY MONEY

Scroll to the bottom of the page and post in the comments section what books you’re most looking forward to this week!

August 15th

CATWOMAN #12

Written by JUDD WINICK

Art by ADRIANA MELO and JULIO FERREIRA

Cover by GUILLEM MARCH

32 pg

$2.99

Anticipation Level:   Eh…meh.

Judd Winick’s final issue and the last installment of the Dollhouse storyline. How will things go down between Catwoman and her backstabbing partner Spark? Will Catwoman rescue the abducted detective in time? There’s a lot of interesting things that COULD happen in this issue, but I’m not going to get my hopes up. The last issue was pretty weak.

NIGHTWING #12

Written by KYLE HIGGINS

Art by EDDY BARROWS, RUY JOSE and EBER FERREIRA

Cover by EDDY BARROWS

32 pg

$2.99

Anticipation Level:   Bring it.

Is anyone else surprised that the Republic of Tomorrow storyline is already wrapping up? I know the #0 issues roll out next month but I really expected this tale to last longer. Oh well, I’ve been enjoying it anyway and this issue is even going to have a Damian cameo so here’s hoping for a solid conclusion to a pretty good Nightwing story.

I’ll be reviewing a few trade paperbacks this week as well, books that influenced The Dark Knight Rises. Be on the lookout for Knightfall and No Man’s Land reviews to pop up throughout the week and maybe a few more surprises.
