Possible Batman cameo in ‘Man of Steel’? Christopher Nolan won’t deny it…

Earlier this month it was reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character from The Dark Knight Rises would be suiting up as Batman in 2015’s Justice League. The same report also implied that we may see Gordon-Levitt in the cape and cowl even sooner, with a possible Man of Steel cameo next summer. Movieline caught up with Man of Steel producer Christopher Nolan at a recent event and asked if Joseph Gordon-Levitt, or any actor as Batman, would make a cameo in the latest Superman movie. “I can’t talk about that.  You know that,” Nolan said cheerily with an impish smile.

If this was just some ridiculous rumor, why wouldn’t Nolan just say “no”? We’ve seen Nolan refute crazy rumors in the past. Back in 2010 it was rumored that a CGI version of Heath Ledger’s Joker would be making a cameo in The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan didn’t act coy when asked about it, and debunked the rumor before it had time to spread any further. In my opinion, Nolan acting coy about a Man of Steel cameo adds fuel to the rumor that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be the next Batman on film.

How did you interpret Christoper Nolan’s answer to Movieline’s question? Do you think we’ll see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman in Man of Steel? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
