Bleeding Cool posted a rumor a week or so ago that Scot Lobdell was being taken off Red Hood & the Outlaws and replaced by James Tynion IV, creator of Talon and the co-writer of the recent Batman back-up stories. I didn’t report on that story because I don’t like spreading rumors, but DC’s official announcement today proves that Bleeding Cool was right on the money with their initial report. Starting with issue #19 this April, Red Hood & the Outlaws will have James Tynion as its new writer and the series will be getting a new artist as well, Mico Suayan. Tynion gave an exclusive interview with Newsarama as well where he stated that he won’t be taking the series into a darker, moodier direction and that the first arc will focus on Roy Harper.
What are your thoughts on this? Are you happy or sad to see Lobdell go and what would you like to see change in Red Hood & the Outlaws in the future?
