Holy auction, Batman! The original Batmobile which was used in the hit Batman TV show in the 1960s sold at auction for $4.6 million. The auction took place at the Barrett-Jackson house in Scottsdale, Arizona last weekend. According to THR, the auctioneer hummed the theme to the classic show as the price rose and the excitement grew.
The car was designed by Hollywood car customizer George Barris and he built it in just 15 days back in 1966. Rick Champagne placed the winning bid and it only cost him a cool $4.6 million. Champagne is a businessman and car collector from the Phoenix area and has been attending Barrett-Jackson auctions for 15 years.
If you could be the proud owner of any of the Batmobiles, which would you choose? Let me know in the comments below.
