Last week in Time Warner’s Q4 2012 earnings call, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer John K. Martin causally announced that a new Batman: Arkham video game would be released later this year.
And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013.
VG247’s sources claim that Rocksteady, the studio behind the successful Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City games, will not be developing the new Batman game that’s due later this year. That would be very disappointing, but that’s just a rumor at this point. Another rumor, which was reported last summer, points to the next Batman game being a prequel based on the Silver Age of DC’s comic books from the 1950s. Members of the Justice League are expected to make an appearance, and the game will focus on Batman and Joker’s first encounter.
However, all we know for sure is that the next game in the Batman: Arkham franchise will be coming later this year. Stay tuned to Batman News for all the latest rumors and announcements.
