I imagine the term “right in the feels” will be used a lot on the web among our community this week as we deal with the sad, sad repercussions of Batman Inc. #8. Here’s a list of all the Batman comics coming out this week, March 13th graded on a scale of my own anticipation.
Hell no! – I’d rather not – Ambivalent – Interested – TAKE MY MONEY

BATMAN AND ROBIN #18
Written by PETER J. TOMASI
Art and cover by PATRICK GLEASON and MICK GRAY
On sale MARCH 13 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
Anticipation Level: TAKE MY MONEY
This and Batman Inc. #9 are the must-read comics of the month. While other books all have a fancy Requiem cover they don’t have the content to back it up! That won’t be the case with Batman and Robin. Other than Batman Inc., no where else will you feel the impact of Damian’s death like you will here. In the coming months we will have an arc that deals with the 5 stages of grief. Batman and Robin will change its name to “Batman and…” with each month showcasing a different partner and a whole new theme. Tomasi, Gleason, and Gray promise to take us on a journey through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and ultimately acceptance and if they can keep the same level of heart as issue #17 and the annual then this will truly be something great.

Get to the comic shop quick, folks, because these Capullo boot covers are going to go quick!
BATGIRL #18
Written by RAY FAWKES
Art and cover by DANIEL SAMPERE and VICENTE CIFUENTES
On sale MARCH 13 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
Anticipation Level: Ambivalent
I don’t trust that there will be that much James Gordon Jr. in this comic. I just don’t. I think we’ll probably spend most of the issue watching Barbara fight the villain Firebug and then we’ll get a page or two of her weeping over the loss of Damian and neither of those things have me that excited.
BATMAN: ARKHAM UNHINGED #12
Written by DEREK FRIDOLFS
Art by JHEREMY RAAPACK
Cover by DAVE WILKINS
On sale MARCH 13 • 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T
Anticipation Level: Ambivalent
The last issue was okay, but I really don’t get that excited about this comic. Issue #12 promises to be more about Azrael, a character who has basically been forgotten about in the New 52 and replaced with the strikingly similar Talon.
Graphic Novel Watch!
The Earth 2, Volume 1 hardcover comes out but the alternate dimension Batman is only featured for a couple panels so it doesn’t really concern us Gotham-folk. Then there’s The All-New Batman: The Brave and The Bold — Small Miracles which collects five fun-filled issues for the kids. Man, I really miss that show. I likely won’t be reviewing either of these, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have plenty of graphic novels to talk about. I’ve got 11 of ’em sitting on a desk in front of me right now.
