We’ll be doing things a bit differently this week and by a bit I mean a lot. I will be going on a grand adventure and likely won’t be able to get these reviews posted on Wednesday. Not unless I get some advance copies on Monday, but if that happens I’ll be sure to come back here and let you know ahead of time. I will, however, keep you guys up to date on my journey via Twitter @AndrewBatReview and maybe an occasional article posted around here. Yes, it sucks that I’ll have to put off some reviews (and I swear to God if someone says one thing about Black Mirror…) but what I’ll be doing is about as highly comic book related as it gets so I think you’ll be interested to hear my report on it. So stay tuned! I’m either going to look really cool or I’m going to embarrass myself in front of around 30,000 online Batman fans. Either way, it should be at least moderately entertaining.

Here’s a list of all the Batman comics coming out this week, March 27th graded on a scale of my own anticipation.

Last issue was good. Really good, actually. So I’m excited to see what this new Mad Hatter origin is all about and what his current plan is. Issue #18 also promises to feature Catwoman in some capacity and it’ll be good to see that character in competent hands. As of now the only way to see Catwoman written well is in JLA.

Teen Titans 18

Anicipation Level: I’d rather not

This series isn’t one of my regulars and I don’t think I’ve ever read an issue of it that I really liked but I’m checking it out this month to see how things go with its REQUIEM tie-in. If it’s just another 2 page grave site visit then I’ll just post a comment on this article telling you so and I’ll avoid reviewing this one. Just look at the solicit for it “The new Dr. Light is coming for Solstice! Guest-starring the Suicide Squad!” Doesn’t sound like there’s much room for much of a Damian memorial to me.

Injustice 3

INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US #3

Written by TOM TAYLOR
Art and cover by JHEREMY RAAPACK
On sale MARCH 27 • 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T

Anticipation Level: TAKE MY MONEY

Issues #1 and #2 are must-buys in my opinion. That was pretty darn awesome so of course I’m excited about the third issue. If you can’t wait until then you can always go ahead and download these chapters online, but I like to wait for the hard copy. I do hope these comics are acting more as a prequel though and they aren’t spoiling all of the cutscenes from the actual video game. It would suck to buy the game only to find the exact same story I already read in the comic verbatim.

Graphic Novel Watch!

Batwing Vol. 2 comes out. I gave the first volume a really low score not because it was bad (it’s actually quite good) but because it only needed like 1 or 2 more issues in order to finish the story it was telling. It had no ending! Instead those comics were set aside for this volume and I thought that was a bunch of crap and not worth anyone’s hard earned dollar. If you want to give a cliffhanger leading to an even bigger story in the next volume then that’s fine, but there were only a couple chapters left and that’s unfair to the reader. This graphic novel should go much smoother I think.
