Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill thinks a Batman/Superman movie would make a “great story”

Man of Steel is just a few weeks away and from early buzz it sounds like Warner Bros. is going to have a hit on their hands. If it’s a success it could pave the way for future DC Comics heroes and help set up the Justice League movie the studio has been wanting for years.

SFX caught up with Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in Man of Steel, and asked what he thinks about a Batman/Superman team-up movie:

I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman/Superman conflict, because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that would make a great story.

When asked if a partnership with Batman could be the next thing he does as Superman on the big screen, Cavill replied:

Who knows. I’m sure there’s all sorts of ideas being thrown around at Warner Bros right now.

We know that Warner Bros. tried to make this happen. Earlier this year they approached Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale but they weren’t able to get a deal signed. Check out the newest trailer for Man of Steel below and let me know which direction you’d like to see Warner Bros. take Batman and Superman next in the comments.
