Warner Bros. wants Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor in ‘Batman vs. Superman’?

Breaking Bad

With a lot of the Batman vs. Superman focus being on the casting of the new Batman, it’s easy to forgot that this movie will need a villain too! Eventually after Batman and Superman settle their differences they’re going to have to team up and stop the bad guys,  right? With all of the LexCorp Easter Eggs in Man of Steel, it seems like Lex Luthor is a logical choice as one of the villains.

If they were looking for someone to play The Riddler, Latino Review’s El Mayimbe would be a good choice because he’s been dropping a lot of clues on Twitter lately. Last night’s riddle was “who does Warner Bros. want as Lex Luthor?” and the answer turned out to be Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston. His last movie, Argo, was made by Warner Bros. and won the Oscar earlier this year for best picture. Cranston will star in Warner Bros.’ remake of Godzilla next summer, so clearly he has a good relationship with the studio.

El Mayimbe has broke a lot of news over the years, but the fact that he only dropped a few Twitter hints instead of writing an article for Latino Review might mean that it’s just a giant rumor at this point. Still, it’s fun to speculate over who Batman will be fighting (besides Superman, of course). Would you like to see Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor? Could we even see a Batman villain get cast?
