Last week news broke that Warner Bros. was interested in having Bryan Cranston play Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman, and today Bryan Cranston has responded to the rumors. Here’s what he had to say to Metro when asked about playing the iconic Superman villain:
“Give me a call,” he says with a grin. And to hear Cranston tell it, he’s already given some thought as to getting into Luthor’s psyche. “I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man,” Cranston says.
When I posted the rumor last week, many readers were pleased to hear that he’s being considered for the role. However a lot of fans would prefer to see him as Commissioner Gordon, since he voiced the part so well in the animated movie Batman: Year One.
It’ll be interesting to see if Warner Bros. “gives him a call” like he suggested… or perhaps there’s already been a call? We should find out a lot more about who will be in Batman vs. Superman in the next few months — including who Batman is! As always, stay tuned to Batman News for all the latest.
