We still haven’t heard from Ben Affleck himself, but MTV caught up with his wife, Jennifer Garner, at the Toronto International Film Festival to get her thoughts on her husband as Batman. Here’s what she had to say:
You know, I was excited for him. I was excited because he had a real take on what he wanted to do, and you know, I have to say, my husband is a pretty great storyteller himself, and I’m excited to watch him do it.
Ben Affleck is a pretty great storyteller and it’s awesome to hear that he already has an idea of how he’d like to tackle the Batman character. When MTV asked if Garner had heard Affleck’s Batman voice yet, she just laughed and said “I hear every voice”.
In a separate interview, Jennifer Garner talked more about Ben Affleck’s casting, this time with ET Canada. Like any big decision for a married couple, she and Affleck talked it over and decided it would be a great move for them:
I’m excited about Batman, of course. Everything we do, we look at it together, and we say, ‘Can we handle this? Can we take this?’ And this was one where we were like, ‘Let’s go to Michigan!’.
A majority of Batman vs. Superman will be shot in Michigan, around the Detroit area early next year.
It shouldn’t be long until we hear from Ben Affleck, however. His new movie Runner Runner hits theaters on October 4th, so he’ll be doing a lot of promotion in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to Batman News for that one!
