New ‘Batman vs. Superman’ rumors about Ben Affleck’s cowl and the Batmobile

Last week it was reported that Ben Affleck’s Batmobile in Batman vs. Superman is being designed by by General Motors at the GM Advanced Design Studio in North Hollywood. Now, Comic Book Movie claims to have some new details about Batman’s new ride:

According to my source, who I will refer to as, “General Napier,” General Motors IS working on the Batmobile designs, but I was also told that production designer Nathan Crowley, and engineers Chris Culvert and Andy Smith, have been consulting on the designs.

If those names sound familiar, it’s because all three previously worked on Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, and helped bring the Tumbler to life. Because of this, Comic Book Movie’s source wouldn’t be surprised to see some elements of the Tumbler carry over into the new design.

Lastly, Comic Book Movie claims to have some details about Ben Affleck’s Bat-cowl:

My source tells me that current cowl designs resemble the Caped Crusader’s look in Batman: Noel. Which is a 2011 graphic novel written and illustrated by Lee Bermejo, based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. They also explored concepts that looked like Injustice: Gods Among Us designs, but ultimately passed on those because they were too similar to Nolan’s costume.

The cowl from Batman: Noel is pictured above. Take these rumors with a grain of salt, but with production starting in just a few months information is bound to start leaking.  Hopefully we get some official news before the end of the year — a title and villain would be nice! As always, stay tuned to Batman News for all the latest on Batman vs. Superman.
