Video game tie-ins, Zero Year tie-ins, and Forever Evil Tie-ins. It’s a week of tie-ins… and Li’l Gotham. Green Lantern Corps #25 comes out this week as well and it too is a Zero Year tie-in, but it’s not a top priority for me and I’ll get an article up about it whenever I have a free moment.

Here are the review comics coming out this week, November 13th, graded on a scale of my own anticipation.

In last month’s issue we discovered that the good guys are all trapped in a mind-bending prison, but how do they get out? In this issue, Martian Manhunter and Stargirl continue their journey to escape from the clutches of the Crime Syndicate and free their comrades and I’m definitely on board to see what happens next.

Issue #1 was basically a really nice recap of everything writer Peter Tomasi established during Villains Month so I’m hoping for big step forward in the plot with the latest installment as Scarecrow tips the balance of power between Arkham and Blackgate. It’s No Man’s Land without any of the good guys and I couldn’t be more curious to see where the creative team is going with this.

Anticipation Level:   Hell no!

Finally! We’re on the final issue of Arkham Unhinged and I couldn’t be happier. This series has been a joke and this whole Bookbinder arc has gone on for way too long. Let’s wrap this up and pretend like it never happened.

“The Main Man Among Us” features none other than Lobo, who has been hired by Superman to hunt down the one other person responsible for the death of Metropolis, Lois, and Superman’s own unborn child. That’s right, it’s Lobo vs. Harley Quinn!

The August-themed issue has no holidays so the batfamily decides to take a holiday of their own and go on vacation. While the good guys are away, the villains take over Gotham in this summertime installment of this adorable and quite funny all-ages series.

“Dark City” begins and we witness The Riddler take center stage. While not much is going on in the tie-ins this month, Batman #25 promises big things for Gotham and hopefully it’s the story arc that Batman’s smartest villain deserves.

Batgirl25

BATGIRL #25

Written by MARGUERITE BENNETT
Art by FERNANDO PASARIN and JONATHAN GLAPION
Cover by ALEX GARNER
On sale NOVEMBER 13 • 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T

Anticipation Level:   Interested

Were you wondering what teenage Barbara Gordon was up to during the Gotham blackout 5 years ago? Well, here it is. Series writer Gail Simone takes a break as Scott Snyder pupil, Marguerite Bennett, delivers a story about Barbara defending her brother and the family home during Gotham’s darkest hour.

Nightwing25

NIGHTWING #25

Written by KYLE HIGGINS
Art and cover by WILL CONRAD
On sale NOVEMBER 13 • 40 pg, FC, $4.99 US • RATED T

Anticipation Level:   Interested

In yet another Zero Year tie-in, we see Dick Grayson frantically try to find Haly’s Circus and his family in the Gotham darkness. This series is on a hot streak right now and given the nostalgia prevalent in the Nightwing Annual I have a feeling we’ll get something pretty special out of this look back into Dick’s past.

Graphic Novel Watch!

Injustice: Gods Among Us, Vol. 1 is released in hardcover. This has been a surprisingly excellent book that far exceeds the story of the game its based on.
