Gal Gadot has landed the role of Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman!
In a press release, director Zack Snyder had the following to say about the casting:
Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.
Gal Gadot is best known for her role in the Fast & Furious franchise. She beat out fellow actresses Olga Kurylenko, Elodie Yung, and Jaimie Alexander for the part.
Fun facts: Gal Gadot won the Miss Israel beauty pageant in 2004. In 2005 she joined the Israeli Army, where she served for 2 years as a sports trainer in the Israel Defense Forces.
