Gal Gadot has received a bit of criticism online ever since she was cast as Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman earlier this month. The model turned actress has been deemed too small and too skinny by some fans hoping to see the Wonder Woman of the comics come to life.
In a recent interview with MTV, Amy Adams was asked about the criticism of Gal Gadot’s body and if she’s ever had to deal with it herself as an actress.
I don’t buy into that. Not that I [don’t] believe that it’s happening, but I’m certainly not a classically drawn woman as they exist in comic books, so I had to embrace that I just had a baby, I still hadn’t gotten my waist back. Lois is not about proportions, Lois is about her intellect and her savvy reporting skills and her empathy for Clark, and so I just didn’t think about it.
Amy Adams went on to say:
If [Gal Gadot] is working with Zack [Snyder] and she’s going to be Wonder Woman, she’s going to be yoked. He’s going to make her a beast.
Director Zack Snyder is known for putting his actors through intense workouts to get in shape. If he wants Gal Gadot to be the muscular Wonder Woman of the comics, she definitely will be.
