Jason Momoa just can’t keep his name away from the Batman vs. Superman rumors. For months he’s been rumored to be in negotiations for a role. And despite denying the rumors already, a new report came out last week that said he was up for Aquaman in a small cameo that would lead into something bigger.
MTV caught up with Momoa at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend, and asked if the new Aquaman rumors were true. Here’s what he had to say:
“I get it all the time. It’s just a rumor. I swear,” Momoa said. Then to prove his seriousness, he offered MTV News’ Josh Horowitz some insurance. “Man to man. You can punch me in the face [if I’m lying],” he said. “You’re allowed to punch me in the face. No, it’s a flattering rumor.”
Momoa went on to say that he would love to play a superhero some day. Despite denying rumors for a second time, The Hollywood Reporter still claims that he’s in talks for a role. Is he telling the truth? We should find out soon. Batman vs. Superman will still begin shooting this year, probably around April or May, despite its release date being push back to 2016.
