Hans Zimmer is coming back! In an interview with Digital Spy, Zimmer said that he’ll be heading to Detroit to hang out with Zack Snyder on set of Batman vs. Superman to work on some music for the new movie. “We’ve already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas,” Zimmer explained.
Zimmer just wrapped up work on the score for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and is now focusing on Christopher Nolan’s new movie Interstellar. Speaking of Nolan, here’s what Zimmer had to say about not wanting to “betray” the Dark Knight Trilogy as he begins working on a new Batman theme:
That’s my problem, that’s my dilemma. I don’t want to betray, if that’s the right word, the Dark Knight movies. That was Christian, it was Christian’s role.
It’s not just that it was nine years of our lives, so you want to stay honest and honorable to that period. So it’s really about, ‘Is there something else I can find that I haven’t tapped into?’ Which I don’t know until I sit down with Zack.
As you probably know, Hans Zimmer previously worked with Zack Snyder on Man of Steel last summer. Are you happy that Zimmer is coming back to score the sequel, or would you have preferred a fresh take on Batman? Let me know in the comments below.
