9. Diversity

Justice League Feature 9

Marvel have been heavily criticized for a lack of diversity in The Avengers, with only one female team member and a very Caucasian cast. In their defense, a big part of that is down to the time in which those characters were created, but their apparent reluctance to bring the likes of Black Panther to the big screen has annoyed a lot of fans. Warner Bros. have seemingly already taken a step in the right direction, casting an Israeli actress (Gal Gadot) as Wonder Woman and relative unknown African American stage actor Ray Fisher as Cyborg. They also have the chance to do the same for Green Lantern (John Stewart is African American and Simon Baz is Arab American), while Wally West — The Flash — has also been reimagined as bi-racial in “The New 52” universe.
