It’s been a while since it was announced that Jesse Eisenberg would play Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman, but we haven’t heard anything from the actor…until now. Eisenberg was a guest on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast and opened up a little bit about his role.
“The character is, luckily, a really great character,” Eisenberg said when asked about Lex Luthor. “Actors can sometimes find really cool things in characters that aren’t written well. This character is written really well.”
Eisenberg went on to say that he thinks summer blockbusters are important for an actor’s career. “It’s important to be in those big things,” Eisenberg continued. “I happen to want to do this movie because the character is awesome, but it’s also important to be in those for some kind of longevity.”
It’s awesome to hear Eisenberg talk about what a great character Lex Luthor will be in Batman vs. Superman. There’s been rumors that two Superman villains would be in the movie, but it officially started shooting last weekend and we still don’t know of any villains other than Luthor. Perhaps Batman will be a bigger problem for Superman than we think?
