On Monday the official Warner Bros. Portugal Facebook account announced that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Comic-Con trailer would be released soon. The rough Bing translation read:
“Chris Hardwick took a selfie with superheroes Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) on stage at the San Diego Comic-Con, where it was revealed the first teaser trailer that we will share with you soon.“
The international Warner Bros. social media accounts were great sources of news and info back in the The Dark Knight Rises days, but it would appear that the person in charge of that WB Portugal Facebook account misspoke.
Variety caught up with Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and international distribution at Warner Bros., and she was singing a completely different tune. “That’s just going to live in that hall. We’ll post extended trailers and stills, but that presentation, that was just for those fans”, she said when asked about the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice footage that was shown at Comic-Con.
If that’s the case, and we never get to see that Comic-Con teaser in full HD glory, here’s a full recap of exactly what went down:
It starts off with Ben Affleck’s Batman in a suit that we haven’t seen yet. It’s big and bulky like the armor he wears in “The Dark Knight Returns”. His eyes light up solid white as he pulls tarp off of the Batsignal. Superman appears in the spotlight and his eyes light up red with heat vision as he glares down at Batman. Then the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice logo appears.
Fans recorded the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer that was shown at Comic-Con, but Warner Bros. has been pulling those videos down left and right. Here’s hoping that they do decide to officially release the trailer online.
