Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been teasing a Warner Bros./DC Comics project for almost a year now. Since then he’s been rumored to be Green Lantern in the upcoming Justice League movie, to a villain in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Today, The Rock finally announced that he’ll be playing Black Adam in an upcoming Shazam movie.

Variety reports that Darren Lemke will write the script, and no production date has been set yet. In the recent comics, Black Adam is more of an anti-hero trying to clear his name than a villain.
