Harry Lennix says fans of ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ will be pleased with ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

It’s no secret that “The Dark Knight Returns” by Frank Miller will have a big influence on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Not only is it a great Batman vs. Superman story, it also happens to be a personal favorite of director Zack Snyder’s. He even used a quote from the book when he introduced the movie to fans at Comic-Con last year.

Harry Lennix will reprise his role of General Swanwick in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Here’s what he had to say about the movie in a new interview with Moviefone:

We have to ask: Can you tell us anything about “Batman v Superman”?

“Batman v Superman” … [Laughs] Well, no. Anybody who’s a fan of the ’86 graphic novel “The Dark Knight Returns,” I think will be well pleased by that. This is a historic event. Clearly, Zack Snyder is on the cutting edge of directing movies of this scope and scale. I think you can depend on the acting — you’ve got Amy Adams, of course. You’ve got Henry [Cavill]. I don’t think there are any surprises with regard to that. What will happen remains to be seen. I’d probably wind up in a box some place.

We’re not getting a straight up adaptation of “The Dark Knight Returns”, but we’ll definitely see it influence Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In fact, we already have with the first photo of Ben Affleck as Batman.
