Well… I don’t know about you guys, but I got some great news concerning comics today! I’ll save that for the January Solicitations post that I’ll (definitely) have pulled together by tomorrow though. There’s a lot of goodness this week, and I’m definitely ready for Wednesday. Hell, let’s be honest, I’ll be reading most of these really late Tuesday night (which I guess is still Wednesday, but you get the idea.) Thankfully, I’m reviewing Catwoman, so it’ll be the first thing I read, but I won’t know what to read first after I finish my reviews!
This week’s releases are listed in order of what I’m most excited to read, to what I’m least excited to read. For each title, I’ll include the official solicitation, the talent credits, more of my randomness, and the Batman News team member that will be covering each book. And of course, I (we) want to hear from you! What titles are you picking up? What do you hope to see? And what are your thoughts about the order of my list? So, without further ado…
Injustice: Gods Among Us Year Three #2
A new resistance to Superman’s reign is forming, and it’s ready to take on Superman from a new angle – one Batman isn’t comfortable with. John Constantine has begun to gather demons and supernatural beings to bring down this dictatorship. Might has failed. It’s time for magic!

Random Blurb of Excitement: This is probably my favorite title… You know, if you couldn’t tell based on the fact that it’s always at the top of my list…

Spinning out of events in BATMAN ETERNAL Selina has accepted the family mantle and embraced her true criminal side, but is Gotham City ready for her reign? And with the Cat away, who’s the stranger haunting the empty rooftops of the city? Don’t miss the start of a bold new direction for Selina Kyle by the new creative team of novelist Genevieve Valentine and Garry Brown (Five Ghosts, Iron Patriot).

Arkham Manor #1
When catastrophe strikes Arkham Asylum, where will Gotham City house the world’s most dangerous criminals, and when inmates are found murdered, what is Batman prepared to do in search of justice? Arkham’s madness comes home in ARKHAM MANOR! A bold new series brought to you by the mad minds of Gerry Duggan (Deadpool, Nova) and Shawn Crystal (Deadpool, Wolverine and the X-Men).

Variant cover by: Eric Canete

Random Blurb of Excitement: It’s another new title, and another glimpse of Gotham post Eternal. I’m really excited about this series for two reasons: 1. I expect it to be dark, smart goodness. 2. Considering Arkham inmates are being housed at Wayne Manor, there’s a sense of danger that they’ll stumble across the cage at any moment.

Batman Eternal #29
Hell is bursting out of Arkham Asylum, and the only being that can stop it is The Spectre – but first he must stop himself from razing all of Gotham City!
Art by: Simon Coleby
Cover by: Clay Mann
Written by: Tim Seeley, Kyle Higgins, Ray Fawkes, James T Tynion IV, Scott Snyder
Random Blurb of Excitement: This plot appears to be the red headed step-child of Eternal, and potentially for good reason. We haven’t really done anything with Deacon Blackfire since his introduction here, so hopefully we’ll see more of him.
Batman News Critic: Brandon
Earth 2: World’s End #3
With Earth 2’s United Kingdom falling under the rule of one of Apokolips’s invaders, Hawkgirl and Doctor Fate race to London. But with Nabu in control, Fate’s motives might not be as pure as they seem.
Art by: Jorge Jimenez, Ed Benes, Tyler Kirkham, Eddy Barrows
Cover by: Jonathan Glapion, Ardian Syaf
Written by: Mike Johnson, Marguerite Bennett, Daniel H. Wilson
Random Blurb of Excitement: I’m so glad that this is a weekly title! It looks as if this is going to be a fast-paced series, and having weekly issues will only support that! The first two issues have been really enjoyable, so if you’re not reading it, I’d advise giving it a chance. The series is also a great jumping on point for anyone who is interested in World’s End or Earth 2, but haven’t been reading the title.

Multiversity: The Just #1
The next chapter of the greatest adventure in DC’s history is here!
When they last collaborated, Grant Morrison joined artist Ben Oliver (LOBO, BATMAN/SUPERMAN) for the acclaimed ACTION COMICS #0. For their next team-up, the two superstars take a spin around the self-obsessed Earth-16 – a.k.a. Earth-Me!
With all of the world’s threats having been handled long ago by their parents, the next generation of supers – including Chris Kent, Damien Wayne, Alexis Luthor, Offspring, Megamorpho, Donna Troy and more – find themselves labeled as superstars more often than super heroes. But with that fame comes complacency, and when a massive threat unlike anything they’ve ever seen surfaces, this pampered crew finds themselves in way over their head. What secret is Damien keeping from Chris that could tear the world’s finest friends apart? Who is the mysterious killer lurking behind the scenes among these spoiled super-children? And what chance do they stand against the monstrous villain that’s murdering its way cross the Multiverse? All that and more in this exciting stand-alone issue which also acts as chapter three of the MULTIVERSITY saga. Join us, if you dare, for THE MULTIVERSITY!

Random Blurb of Excitement: I found the last issue rather enjoyable, and am hoping for the same here. It’ll be fun to see these characters presented in this light. And let’s face it, I’ll pretty much take any form of Damian that I can at this point.

Batman Beyond Universe #15
Rewire is out of Arkham. Ghoul is back on the streets and selling modified Joker toxin. And now Terry’s girlfriend Melanie might have gone back to her old habits. Can things get any worse? Oh yeah – Inque’s back and more powerful than ever!
Art by: Thony Silas
Cover by: Matteo Scalera
Written by: Alec Siegel, Kyle Higgins
Random Blurb of Excitement: Kyle Higgins has delivered a solid and consistent book here, and it really is a shame that this title is coming to an end. I hope we get an announcement soon that he’ll be working on something else.
Batman News Critic: Jay
Harley Quinn #11
Harley continues with her toxic Max Macabre relationship – but everything changes when Power Girl comes crashing into Coney Island from outer space! PG has a severe case of amnesia, and Harley is happy to remind her that they are best friends – and a crime fighting team!

Variant cover by: Yanick Paquette, Amanda Conner
Written by: Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner
Random Blurb of Excitement: I love reading this title. It’s 20 minutes of looney fun that I look forward to each month… That being said, I’m probably going to stop picking this book up monthly, and just wait for the trades. Why would I do that when I love this title? Quite simply, I want to save money, and since this book doesn’t play into continuity, I don’t feel a need to rush when reading it. There’s no sense of urgency. I’m not sure if that makes sense to anyone. Regardless, you better believe I’m picking up the trades when they’re released.

Futures End #25
The revelation of their ultimate adversary forces the S.H.A.D.E. team to find a new ride as they learn what it means to watch for the Storm.
Art by: Patrick Zircher
Cover by: Ryan Sook
Written by: Keith Giffen, Dan Jurgens, Jeff Lemire, Brian Azzarello
Random Blurb of Excitement: Hey look at that! It’s the second week that Futures End hasn’t been on the bottom of my list! Go figure!
Batman News Critic: Jesse
Batman ’66 #16
It’s “Egghead Unbound” as Batman’s most egg-centric foe returns to terrorize Gotham City. Frustrated by his repeated defeats at the hands of the Caped Crusader, he invents a device that will egg-celerate his brain development to that of a being from the 40th century. Is this really possible? Does he now possess super-human abilities? Or has his mind simply gotten scrambled?
Art by: Brent Schoonover
Cover by: Mike Allred
Written by: Jeff Parker
Random Blurb of Excitement: As with Harley Quinn, I’m going to start waiting for the trades of this title. This issue should be eggs-celently campy!
Batman News Critic: Jay
Infinity Man and the Forever People #4 – I know this is stretching it, but Bat Cow is in this issue. And Bat Cow is kind of awesome for simply existing… Just saying… If you want a review of the issue, let us know. Elena
