Margot Robbie on playing Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad: ‘It’s intimidating’ (video)

Margot Robbie will be the first actress to portray a live-action version of Harley Quinn on the big screen, a character who quickly became a fan favorite after being created for the animated Batman TV series in the 90s. MTV’s Josh Horowitz caught up with Robbie at the Sundance Film Festival yesterday, and asked if she was intimidated to take on such a big role. Here’s what she had to say:

“Yeah, I guess it’s intimidating because there’s obviously a lot of people I want to please, and a character I have to do justice,” Robbie said, “but it’s a challenge, I’m definitely up for it, and hopefully I don’t disappoint.”

Robbie revealed that she’s shooting a movie before she starts on Suicide Squad, so she hasn’t begun working on the voice or look of Harley Quinn yet. Robbie also expressed excitement in getting to work with Jared Leto, who will be playing The Joker.
