The “DC vs. Marvel” debate will probably never die down between hardcore comic book fans, and now Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara has stated his opinion on the topic.
“The worlds of DC are very different,” Tsujihara said at Wednesday’s Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference. “They’re steeped in realism, and they’re a little bit edgier than Marvel’s movies.”
Tsujihara also touched on the worldwide reach that these big superhero movies have, revealing that nearly 70% of box office revenue comes from the international box offices. “The big franchises are becoming more and more valuable,” said Tsujihara. “You don’t have to explain to the consumer what a ‘Batman v Superman’ is.”
Finally, Tsujihara commented on the Sony hack from last year, and wasn’t able to promise that hackers would never be able to access Warner Bros.’ servers. “We’re seeing more attempts to get into our system than ever before,” Tsujihara said.
