CBR caught up with Viola Davis this past weekend at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, and asked what excited her about taking the role of Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad. “That she’s Amanda Waller!” she replied. “That she’s badass.”
“She’s unapologetic,” Davis continued. “Everything that I’m reading and studying about her: unapologetic, no humor, just brutal. That’s me!”
“Listen, she gets to use a gun,” laughed Davis. “It’s my fantasy. Now, I would never do that in life, but when I get a gun on a set, it does something to me.”
Suicide Squad begins shooting in just a few weeks in Toronto. Hopefully it won’t be long before we get the first official photos of the star-studded cast.
