Upcoming Comics: April 29, 2015

Look, I know all people really want to talk about is the potential outcomes of Batman Endgame. I’m a little late with this post again, so I’ll just keep this short and let you get to it! We also posted the July 2015 Solicitations so if you haven’t checked that out, then be sure to do so!

This week’s releases are listed in order of what I’m most excited to read, to what I’m least excited to read. For each title, I’ll include the official solicitation, the talent credits, more of my randomness, and the Batman News team member that will be covering each book. After that, you’ll find a poll for this week’s best cover! Should you have trouble picking one cover, no worries! The poll is open so you can select as many covers as you’d like. Then, as always, you’ll find graphic novels scheduled for release this week, along  with their cover as well thanks to some requests (note: graphic novel covers will not be included in the poll for best cover). And of course, I (we) want to hear from you in the comments section! What titles are you picking up? What do you hope to see? And what are your thoughts about the order of my list? Random Blurb of Excitement: Look, I’ve really enjoyed a lot of the Multiversity issues, but I’m kind of glad it’s coming to an end. While they were quality work, I prefer stories that build into larger, arcing stories, and this clearly doesn’t do that. Are all of the issues connected? Yes, but I want a little more than that. I never really get excited for these issues.

Notes:

Superman #40
The spotlight shines on John Romita, Jr. as he goes solo to tell the story of the testing of Superman’s new power against the Justice League! But the appearance of an unexpected enemy could end the Man of Steel’s life!

We didn’t plan on covering this, but it looks like the Justice League is involved, so if you want a review, let me know and I’ll cover it for you. Just to be clear though, I don’t read Superman, and I have no idea what’s going on in this book.

 

Graphic Novel Watch:

Batman Vol. 5: Zero Year – Dark City (Softcover) – Before the Batcave and Robin, The Joker and the Batmobile, there was ZERO YEAR. The Riddler has plunged Gotham City into darkness. How will a young Dark Knight bring his beloved hometown from the brink of chaos and madness back into the light? This final ZERO YEAR volume collects BATMAN #25-27 and 29-33.

Batman Vol. 6 – The Graveyard Shift (Hardcover) – In these tales from BATMAN #0, 18-20, 28, 34 and BATMAN ANNUAL #2, look back to the early days of the Dark Knight, then see the impact of the wake of the death of his son Damian!
