This story is insane… in such an awesome way! Remember when Jai Courtney said that he hadn’t seen Jared Leto out of character since they started shooting Suicide Squad? He wasn’t kidding!
E! News caught up with Adam Beach, who plays Slipnot in Suicide Squad, and he revealed that Leto sent the entire cast Joker gifts. He sent Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) a love letter that he wrote in character and a box with a live rat inside! He sent Will Smith (Deadshot) a letter of his own, complete with a box of bullets.
Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) posted pictures with the rat on Instagram:
According to Beach, Leto also sent the entire cast a dead hog, and a video of himself that he shot completely in character as The Joker.
“Basically, what he said was, ‘Guys, I can’t be there but I want you to know I’m doing my work as hard as you guys,'” Beach said. “The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real.”
“He encompasses this beautiful man and he shows it in, ‘Hello, how are you?,’ but in an instant, he goes to psychotic behavior where you’re in fear,” Beach said. “But you love him because he has both of those genuine sides.”
