Zack Snyder says ‘Batman v Superman’ is ‘Man of Steel 2’

Canoe caught up with Zack Snyder to talk about his upcoming Dorito’s Super Bowl contest, but naturally Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the DCEU came up as well. Snyder addressed the rumors surrounding Man of Steel 2:

“I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2,” said Snyder, making it sound like a standalone Superman sequel is definitely not DC’s highest priority right now. “Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice picks up right where Man of Steel left off, so it is a sequel in that sense. But what fans really want is an update on the standalone Superman movie that Warner Bros. announced last year.

We know that Ben Affleck is getting his own Batman movie, and fans want to be reassured that Warner Bros. has as much confidence in giving Superman another solo flick. Unfortunately for them, it looks like Justice League Part One and Two is where they’ll be getting their Superman fix for now.
